She has no recourse. She's not fricking special so tell her to stop acting like it.

The biggest employee outbreak we had wasn't from clinical staff that treat patients. It was from the billing department located in the basement that thought because they weren't in a clinical setting they didn't need masks or distancing. They all ended up sick with two of them in the hospital.

My professional life as an "Industrial Hygienist" gives me some insight here and I am telling you, in my professional opinion, this is more than your usual "griping staff". Bodily fluids from just breathing, accumulate on the inside of the mask, making it less porous. That in turn keeps more CO2 present for re-breathing and that ain't good. It also becomes a breeding ground for other "gradoule'. There ARE ways to mitigate this, administratively BUT, trust me, not a good idea, day after day.

I think I understand what your saying. The workforce I was responsible for had many "spoiled" worker bees and therefore they were more prone to making themselves sick.

Do you recall if they were diagnosed with anything relevant here.

Also note, neither she nor I are in any sort of "panic" here. I am concerned for her well being and "IF" it comes down to it, I would rather she gave them a big F U. But she likes her job.

probably had more to do with them being crammed into a small basement than not wearing masks
