Have you ever wondered how an organization like the KKK could get started?

How a group of hateful bigots could find purchase in a nation as great as America? How one race of people could look at another race of people and start thinking that the other race was responsible for all of their problems. I have. I've wondered how it could happen, while the rest of the citizens sat back and let it happen. I'm not wondering any more. I'm watching it happen in America right now in real time.

I've lamented to friends that the eventually outcome of BLM will be a rise in white groups (whether supremecy or not they will get labeled that way) and an eventually tipping point of violence between them.

Yeah I understand how . It happen in the early 1900’s when things like this were accepted and almost encouraged . Was it wrong , hell yes it was wrong and is a black eye on our country . If we never learn from our past we we are bound to repeat it . We obviously didn’t learn from it , because history is repeating itself currently except the tables have turned .

Living in South Louisiana for my entire 30 years of life, I have:
Never seen or known a KKK member
Know anyone who’s known or seen a KKK member.
Not denying that they’re real, but they’re presence is completely minuscule.

Back when the KKK started I wonder if their were any black people who went out of their way to grovel before them?

It was a response to reconstruction. Grant actually created the dept of justice to take on the kkk because he didn’t want to send troops back into the south

it was started after the Civil War as a social club which evolved into a group to protect Southerner's rights. As Reconstruction became harsher the KKK became more anti-Union and eventually violent.

But my all time absolute fave Klan story concerns a Texas Klan meeting in the '80s. They printed a flyer telling of the terrible things happening in society and how they would take care of it, and for everyone who agreed to attend the Klan meeting. Then at the bottom, they added:
"All Texas Klanspersons are invited"

There is no doubt in my mind that we will see an insurgency in white supremacy groups and people who aren’t patently racist, will want to join for the same reasons some whites join these groups in prison. Self preservation.
