based on those numbers that means the 23% white males must all get pink slips since you cant be sexist and fire the women

This is smart. BET has been 50% white for a long time.
Not really.
Not really.

I’d love to see them try to restructure CNBC. That network is perfect the way it is.

FWIW, I just ordered yard signs from Steve McClinton (place 7) and Robin Shultz (place 2)
I'm assuming that you already know to vote against Swinney *from yard signs next to Doug Jones signs); but voting for.McClinton is CRITICAL; his opponent (Carin Mayo) is a full blown marxists progressive, I know her personally...
With you on McClinton. Really torn on place 2. I'm not voting Swinney, but I'm not a fan of Robin Schultz at all. Really considering Ron Brown. He seems more conservative than Schultz to me. I think Schultz is a big government fake.
There's a Facebook group called Hoover Conservatives you should join, if you haven't. A few council members and candidates are in there.

Yes, but they stopped caring about the Constitution a while ago.

I have been quiet on FB for years, but decided to speak out recently
I have been defending the admins on the Vote page from the radical leftists that are attacking them for *gasp* allowing free speech... and BOOM I get an invite on the Conservative page!
my wife knows Robin, he is an ex cop. I spoke with him for 30 minutes this afternoon, he said he was all in on keeping business open and supporting law enforcement
he is also well known and almost won last time
Brown may be better, but we can't afford to split the vote, trust me when I tell you that Carin is bad news
one of her prominent photos on FB is her and her husband smiling at Brennan's Irish Pub on transvestite talent show night...
Robin seems decent and Mrs Mayo would be a nightmare with power (see Whitmer in MI)
I can be convinced to.vote Brown, but I'm nervous about Carin sneaking in

Seems strange to devote 50% of everything to a group that makes up 15% of the population.

Brown/Schultz/Swinney aren't running for the same spot as Mayo/McClinton.
My issues with Schultz really stem from his virulent opposition to almost any rezoning, even if that request actually fits the area better than the current zoning. He seems anti-business and anti-development to me. I really don't like the city council telling people what they can do with their own property, especially when they make reasonable zoning requests. I understand the need for property zoning, but he always seems to speak the loudest against reasonable requests.
I imagine Schultz will win though because he will get the Bluff Park liberal vote.

my bad, the way the "places" are set up confuses me a little & I am wrapping my head around it and trying to research how to vote/who to support
in the past I have pretty much ignored the council and just voted in larger elections, but this time it is more important
I will look into Brown
Swiney is actually a member of Hoover Conservatives, which I find a little odd
and I am confused by this statement:

looks like Swiney has that Bluff park lefty vote wrapped up?
and this

is this mostly about opposition to more apartments?
and sorry to OP for the hijack...

Wow that leaves like 5% for white Christian males

I don’t know the answer to your question.
FTR, they didn’t say black employees, they said minority employees (not that I approve of affirmative action of any flavor).

Last year I started filling out African American on all forms. If anyone asks I will just respond with "does it really matter? Are you a racist?"

Just identify as a minority, all good.

It might improve things for them. The white-guilt cucks they have now are all anti-America, antifa and blm loving fascists.

They seem to think he's a conservative. I don't know what gives them that impression. They also say they encouraged any council candidates to join the group.

I think they may split it, but Schultz has done far more for the big government crowd with his opposition to literally any zoning changes. He basically advocates for the city to be dictator over all land and then gets mad when things can be built without zoning adjustments (because then the city has no power over the developments).
Seriously, I would vote for anyone over Schultz. I'm glad there are multiple options so I don't have to vote Swinney.
quote:
is this mostly about opposition to more apartments?
No. I also don't think we need more apartments. We have enough of those, and the reasoning for not allowing more zoning for apartments makes sense. I used to live in Bluff Park, and he would oppose literally any new development. He was part of the contingent that loudly opposed a neighborhood Walmart up there, which caused Walmart to back out, and then opposed rezoning the land so the owners could sell it for more houses (which was their only real option after Walmart backed out).
He recently opposed the rezoning of very small parcels on the Smith Farm property to R-1 and E-2 from agricultural zoning (going so far as to organize an email address that residents could use to instantly contact all council members at one time about this issue), and was successful in his opposition, which actually leaves the landowner with the only option of making a much less appealing development than what they proposed in their zoning request. His opposition to that was not only purely spiteful, it also made no sense. I asked him, directly, to give me the conservative reason for opposing that development, and to explain how the current zoning fits the area better than the zoning proposed by the landowner. He has not responded. I'm betting he won't, because neither answer to those questions makes him look good.
He basically wants people to just take a total loss on their property because he clearly thinks any new housing developments are too many. The man is just begging for the city to get sued. He's part of a large contingent of Hoover citizens who seem to think the city can legally be dictators when it comes to zoning laws. From my perspective, he's leading that charge.
