The wife runs an internal medicine group. This is the formula that they are recommending.
Get outside and breathe fresh air and get sunshine.
Workout but, not in a gym.
Wear a damned mask.

I have been taking vitamin D3 for a while, since before the plague hit. It helps me sleep. When I took Melatonin I had bad/weird/scary dreams, as in Dead people talked to me. So I stopped the melatonin and started taking vitamin D3. I take a heavy zinc multi-vitamin (Old fart blend) and vitamin C. Maybe it will help me avoid covid. It certainly makes my piss healthy, or at least full of healthy stuff.

My buddy is a Dr at Emory in Atlanta. Says Low D3 makes CV a wrecking ball. Get outside.
Or get vitamin d supplements. It's incredibly cheap and has basically no drawbacks.
You can get two 100 ct bottles of 400 iu vitamin d pills at CVS for 4.59 plus tax. It's shocking that this information isn't more widely spread (even for its other benefits). I had no real idea on vitamin d deficiency before this past December when my PCP checked for it.

D3 is dosed in units not milligrams.

Actually, depending on the location or supplier, vitamin d can be dosed in international units or micrograms.

To convert Vitamin D:
From IU to mcg: IU/40 = mcg
For example: 400 IU/40 = 10 mcg
From mcg to IU: mcg * 40 =IU

Eat a half dozen oysters a day! High in Zinc and all the good natural vitamins and nutrients. Not to mention, your wife will like the results!

I've heard this important too (not specifically for China flu).
Elton John must have kept the aids away with it (LOL).

I have low levels and am outside a good bit. I take 10,000 iu (I think that’s what the unit is) daily. Started with 5000 butnit didn’t move much.

Vitamin d is a fat soluble vitamin — you can take too much unlike vitamin c which is water soluble and you’ll pee any excess out.

July/August issue of Readers Digest had interesting article about the benefits of sunlight and likely harm to health from lack of sunlight and low vitamin D levels.
A study done by Richard Weller,MD that seems to associate, lack of sunlight to hypertension. The deal is that sunlight stimulates the production of nitric oxide that dilates blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.Supplementation of Vit.D has not been shown in trials to help with lowering BP.
Lack of sunlight seems to be implicated in the high rates of hypertension in African Americans.Because of the large amount of melanin in their skin they require even more sun exposure than Caucasians.
Interesting article.

Some of excess vitamin c gets turned to oxalate. If you have an excess of calcium as well, when the kidneys filter it out and concentrate it to make urine you have a heightened risk of the two meeting and forming the insolvent calcium oxalate, aka kidney stones.

I still take prenatal vitamins daily (why not....it’s got a lot of good stuff in it) as well as drink an EmergenC packet every morning.
So I get a decent amount of Vit D, C, Zinc, etc from those.
I used to just drink an EmergenC packet once a day only during flu season. Now...I will just do it daily.
