Damn! I just got one last month. This thing is great though, I’ve been using it to take my temp to make sure I don’t have Covid

The single best cooking gadget I have , has improved my cooking by many levels , have one at the house and a MK at the camp, everyone laughs at me because I run around with one in my pocket or hand while cooking, ..... but they all come back for seconds

Good price. But the backlight and rotating display on the newer model is worth the extra coin.

I have both. Excellent products.

Good instant read thermometers aren’t super cheap and Thermapen is the standard bearer in that category

I use them at work all the time and haven't spent more than $20 for one.

That’s a really good price.
Paid almost twice that for mine years ago. Don’t remember exactly when I bought it.
Worth every penny.

Chicken and pork chops are sure a lot better when you stop over cooking them.
Digital thermometers have vastly improved my cooking.

Not trying to be a smart arse. But what does this expensive digital thermometer do that a cheap one doesn’t? I have been using them for years but have never paid that much for one.

It gives you an instant temp. It doesn’t ramp up to the temp.

I’m curious about this as well. For the last 10 years or so, I’ve been using one I bought on amazon for less than $20.

This, that and it's ridiculously accurate and well-built for the price. I was too cheap for the $79 thermapen and compromised on a ThermoPop for $25-$30 that I've had for years, but I'm tempted to upgrade to this one. The ThermaPop is great if you're not put off by it taking a bit of time to get to temp, but the Thermapen really is a lot faster.

I didn't have an issue with the speed of the Thermopop as much as it's too top heavy for a Chef's jacket's sleeve, flopping around all the time.

Instant read. The fastest in the business. One time it read it to me before I even stuck in the meat.
