Probably so. I’m just saying, if someone tried to launch a video channel now it wouldn’t work bc of YouTube.

He’s the best and also the most uniquely talented rapper of all time.

He and snoop were the pinnacle of it to me. He is rapping but he is in a key. Both of them could do this. Eminem is nearly singing in parts. They both were capable of a vocal performance. Any rap I hear today is marble mouthed words over a piss poor beat. Very much like metal morphed into Cookie Monster vocals after Metallica and Pantera got old or broke up/died.

Are you not allowed to vote? Maybe standing on an interstate in protest will help your cause.

Hate to be the get off my lawn guy but you are absolutely right. Hot garbage is the only way to describe what’s put out these days.

I don’t know man. Chillaxin by the pool with young teen kid and friends and listening to newer music on Pandora and there’s some damn good songs out the last couple of years. But I’ve always been pretty open minded with music.

Damn I forgot about their terrible song for the mission impossible soundtrack...that’s also something that’s fallen by the wayside, songs straight up to promote movies

another reminder that music from about 1998-2003 was TERRIBLE

I think the difference between this time period, and others (in which you’d feel music isn’t terrible), is there wasn’t really any traditional “rock” music in 98-03, where you’d typically find talented musicians. Nu metal was the flavor of the day, and we see how everyone feels about that.

Aside from that, pop and rap was very popular, and that’s been the case for the past 30 years.

To me, the late 90s to early aughts was a fun time, and for a teenager or young adult, the music was enjoyable (despite most of it not holding up today).

I think that’s kinda old now. Also, sounds like just loud talking.

Name one. Just one. Music has been a joke in pretty much every genre for close to 25 years.

Born in 70. I'm Gen X. I'm more than okay with admitting that music has sucked since my mid 20s. Sorry if facts hurt your feelings. Now, go listen to some Lady A or Taylor Swift and you'll feel all better.
