I cancelled my YouTubeTV when sports were cancelled. I can find any shows I want to watch and honestly there is tv quality stuff on YouTube.

The latest price was 50 dollars per month but it started out at 35 a month two years ago and they kept adding channels and increasing the price 5 dollars a month.

I know they want the money but why can’t they offer these channels as an add-on? I suppose it is in the contract and how they were able to get them in the first place but I didn’t even know MTV or VH1 was still in existence.

I’m going to cancel but we are waiting because we have another month before any price increase on our bill. If we can find a friend who wants to split it with us then we will keep it. I think a lot of people will go that route.

When YouTube signed the original contract with CBS it was before their merger with Viacom. I read an article a couple of months ago that ViacomCBS was demanding these 8 channels be included in the new contract and wouldn't come off that position. Clearly YouTube caved and now they are going to pay for it in losing subscribers.

I know that content costs keep rising but I have another theory. Amazon said earlier this week that are considering a live TV streaming service. If they offer one I expect some downward pressure on pricing. It may be that Google/YouTube is trying to make some cash before Amazon jumps in.

What was YouTube charging before? I'm cutting the cable later this year, regardless.

YTTV remains the best deal of them all. Don’t let these people whining about $15 convince you otherwise

My price change won't go into effect until 8/27

How did that happen? My auto payment just went through the other day at the new price. I'm likely canceling before my next month starts. Just don't know what service to use. Really not a fan of Hulu live, but sling looks worse.

Take up a hobby and just put music on in the background.

A. You probably don't even watch enough to justify the cost

B. A hobby or home improvement projects directly adds value to your life and not a television, movie, or cable company

C. Your children can join you in whatever pursuit you choose and some day, perhaps, become artisans in their own right and have a career they love.
