It Tate doesn’t veto, I wonder if he’ll be successfully primaried out in 2023.

Earlier today he said he would sign the bill.

Because the referendum would fail. Mississippi voters are too stupid to be trusted to choose their flag, so the benevolent State Legislature has to right this wrong, all in the name of Corporate Lobbyists.

The compromise is for the legislature to get rid of current flag and have the people select the new flag.

Oh how benevolent of the parents allowing their kids to pick a new toy.

Why is someone from Austin so against people from Mississippi voting against their own state flag?
I'm from Baton Rouge.

I'm not "against" anything. I'm just not butthurt that their legislature is going through the legislative process to legislate things.

And if you're butthurt now, then you should be really butthurt that the 1894 legislature foisted this on the population without a referendum.

Afraid it won’t pass meaning flag stays and money leaves or doesn’t come.

I saw where you said you werent against it but judging from your comments in this and other topics that is inherently false.

So again, why is someone from Baton Rouge so against people from Mississippi voting for or against their own state flag?

The job of the legislature is to do the will of the people that elected them. Do you believe that the choice of the 1894 flag went against the will of the voter of Mississippi?
You are dumb or insane if you do. Yesterday is what subverting the will of the Mississippi voters looks like, not in 1894.
