California removes anti-discrimination from its constitution

The California legislature has now voted to strike these words from our state
constitution:
“The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.”
I’m speechless.
Daily Wire
quote:
On Wednesday, California Democrats voted to reverse the state’s ban on racial preferences, reinstating affirmative action and de-facto racial discrimination by ratifying Assembly Constitutional Amendment 5 (ACA5).
The measure, which “would reintroduce racial preferences for who gets a state job or contract, or who is admitted to a state university,” as The Wall Street Journal editorial board puts it, will be on Californians’ ballots come November.
If it passes, the state’s 24-year old ban on affirmative action will be reversed.
What... The... frick...
MLK, sorry to disturb you from your grave rolling, but could you rip yourself out of the ground, drive to California, and strangle these mother frickers?

Only in a liberal mind does this make sense

I guess I'm confused, whether they eventually change the State Constitution or not is immaterial.

Lol.
Our grandparents were right about the Civil Rights movement.

I, for one, love that the curtain and is being drawn back the left is being exposed for what they are...all at their own doing mind you.

If you think they were, then I encourage you to move to Russia or China where they treat the minorities there as your grandparents did. And speak for yourself on your grandparents being right about the Civil Rights movement since mine were for it and were working at Ole Miss during the riots.

I don't see how an Asian could ever vote for a Democrat. The left has nothing but disdain for them for their success.

On the plus side this will get Republicans and moderates out to the polls in November and this could greatly backfire on them.

If your grandpa was for segregation and separate drinking fountains, then this may come as a shocker to you, but neither you nor your grandpappy were good people. The problem is it’s too late for him where there’s a good chance he’s currently suffering the consequences of it, while it’s not too late for you.

My grandparents were the kinds of people that everyone respected, of all backgrounds, and they were right about the Civil Rights movement.

So don't be white in California basically.

Does their senate and governor need to also sign/vote?
ETA: the citizens still have to vote on it.
