VS

I'm confused... so the contractor just decided to arbitrarily replace that nice plaza/entry with a slab of asphalt?

1) architects always take liberties with renderings
2) dollars to donuts the bids were over budget and owner value engineered the hell out of it

Value Engineering doing work
The sheet metal looking panels are pretty much ruining the whole thing at the moment

Surely the bid plans were exactly the same as the rendition shown to the public in order to secure funding

All that glass under the hot Texas summer sun would've made it absolutely brutal to climate control the inside. Not sure the corrugated metal look was the right choice to replace it though

The contractor isn’t the one who either lied about the design or changed the design when the money became an issue.

Yawnnnnn
Place is badass inside and I can finally watch day games without having a heat stroke.

That rendering isn't anything special either.

Looks pretty much the same.
There’s no need for the walkway in the rendering since it’s literally connected to basically a food court with a beer garden/backyard area.

It takes two people to sign a contract.
If the owners didn't like the design drawings they wouldn't have sought bids for construction.
Blame the architects, but ultimate responsibility lies with the owner.

So post it.
This is the first I’m hearing about climate change in regards to this park. I can’t imagine it’s a widespread opinion.
They should’ve built a roof when they built globe life in the first place though. Day games are brutal in the summertime.

The original plaza design, or lack of, would have required a $4.5 million dollar change order to build a ramp for accessibility.
Instead of a space for people to roam about aimlessly, go the LSU Athletics route and provide reserved game day parking at a price suited for those who rather not roam about.

Perspective makes a difference. The rendering is the equivalent of everyone's social media profile pics where the angle is always favorable. The finished picture is further away and equivalent to showing the shirt tugging in your mid-section.

That’s how they catfished the taxpayers. Picture vs reality.
