I don’t feel like reading this thread. Can someone tell me if this is legal to just give away millions of dollars of public money to citizens?

I’m pretty sure this isn’t allowed.

Hmm....pretty sure defense lawyers will be happy if the settlement gets pushed through

I am sorry if someone has already pointed this out, but the statutory limitation of liability of a city in Louisiana for a single wrongful death is $500,000.

The East Baton Rouge Metro Council is set to consider a $5 million settlement in the civil lawsuit against local leaders filed on behalf of Alton Sterling's five children, who lost their father in the 2016 police shooting that ignited nationwide protests.

Meanwhile, blacks who actually do the right thing and contribute to society have to deal with BS from BLM guilt trippers, find work to support families, and pay loan debts off.

Democrats pandering has destroyed the black family and destroyed our cities.

A career criminal, engaged in illegal activities, resisting arrest. Why do we owe anyone anything?

So if a child molesting, multi time felon, with weight issues and multiple baby mamas and no job, is worth $5 million, how much is an upstanding citizen worth?

a committee will be formed to decide how to divvy up the money.

by the time the family gets it, it will be more like $5k.
