On another note, who’s grandma almost left Jim and Pams wedding?
The scene before the rehearsal dinner, Pam, Jim and his parents are standing around and Jim’s dad asks who Pams grandma is, and they point her out.
Then the rehearsal dinner, Pam goes up to the same grandma and she says she wasn’t sure about her side of the family because of the divorce and all.
Picked that up after my 5th or 10th rewatch

Also- how could Dwight fire Toby when Michael couldn't?
I always assumed with Wallace being the sole owner of the new Dunder Mifflin he probably gave Dwight carte blanche to do whatever he wanted with staffing.

Then it's basically implied that Jim who was just an early 30s slacker paper salesman turned the position down. Then they give the job to Ryan, an intern with an MBA from Scranton University. A very well respected institution I'm sure.
Right. Ryan was clearly unqualified for that position, and it's insane that he would even be interviewed for it, let alone get it.
And clearly they created the show to make you think Jim was the best candidate. He was acing the interview until he saw Pam's Office Olympics medal. And he and Wallace had gotten along swimmingly in the past, so Wallace liked him.
I'm surprised this got so many downvotes.
