Best day trip or one night getaway/romantic getaway from Baton Rouge for stuff that’s currently open?

Is NOLA up and running restaurant wise?

Just go to Mandeville lakefront area and restaurants were open and you could hit up Abita Brewery
We did that two weekends ago instead of New Orleans since New Orleans was just reopening things

Nola is always good, but for something different, check out the Southern Star Hotel or a BnB in Old Town Covington.

Old Mandeville might work as well.

If you aren't poor and want to impress the wife for an overnight quick trip, go to the Marriot Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL.

Stay in the small town of Arnaudville at the Cajun Cabin.

Go to the Little Big Cup for awesome food. Hit up LA31 Brewery for beer, pizza, and fun.

You might love some other Cheddar’s.

You wouldn’t love the Slidell version as it is, trust me.

Been looking to make a weekend trip to Hot Springs or Eureka Springs myself. But it's definitely not a day trip.

Yeah, pretty much. Holly Beach is magical this time of year.

+1 for this. Bayou Teche brewing is a really good time. Go on Saturdays for Music Trivia and Political Commentary. The dude puts on a killer show

I may get shite on for this suggestion, but when my wife and I lived in BR we liked to go to Waveland for day trips a lot, it’s the closest beach we found to BR that allows dogs.

Super quiet with hardly anyone on the beach, decently clear water. You can wade our a solid 100 yards and setup chairs in the water and drink all day. We’d leave early in the AM, get some brunch at a restaurant on the water, head out and have some drinks on the beach and let the dogs run and swim, head to a bar for some food late afternoon and head home.
