I'm one of those concerned, but point taken.
Hope you're right.
re: More than a dozen businesses inside CHAZ file a class action lawsuit against the city

If the businesses win any significant settlement, they should use that money to get the hell out of there.
Thank you for providing a real answer instead of the other worthless "alter" asshat responses I got. I am in the contiguous boundary of St. George. Thank you.
No, but since these companies want to be legally treated like they are totally open forums to avoid regulations, I believe it is absolutely akin to book burning. When and if we deem Google/YouTube/Alphabet to be a publisher, then they should not be allowed to continue to do this.
I love Cheddar's. I wish we had one in BR.
Unincorporated Areas Between BR and St. George
Posted by NewBRLA82 on 6/24/20 at 10:57 am
If we were left behind in the incorporation of St. George, but we are not incorporated in the city of BR, how do we prevent Baton Rouge from annexing our neighborhood? If we can't be part of St. George, I'd definitely prefer to remain unincorporated. It just seems BR was able to rush annex all of those shopping areas seemingly without any opposition from those who live around them. If we allowed BR to legally do this, what's to stop a business deep in the heart of BR like Towne Center (unincorporated) from being annexed into St. George?

I pray you are correct.
I don't have a short memory, that's the reason these realities need to be pointed out early and often. Why do Democrats keep winning the cities? This isn't the first time looting, rioting, murder has happened, yet they continue to win election after election. Some of the blind morons in here believe everybody is just going to suddenly wake up and vote them out! I'm still waiting. They create instability, to pretend their policies solve the instability. They've been doing it for generations.
That's the whole point of my post. We lost in 2018, when I thought I'd see a red wave!? The Dems managed to win in suburbs across the country with anti 2nd amendment talking points and open borders!? I was dumbfounded, and I'm taking 2020 very deadly seriously. I see that many in here clearly are not. They have short memories.
Where were you when we LOST the House in 2018?

I'm not voting for Biden, but I'm certainly worried the suburbanites will, do you forget 2018 when Dems got a 40 seat majority campaigning on open borders!? Look at Virginia for God's sake. We could lose our country, and the messenger being attacked.
Yes, pretty much. I'll never vote Democrats, but there are plenty of local elitist turncoats who have and will.
I'm a realist who want Republicans to wake the F up to what's happening before we lose our country forever. Push Trump to do something, stop the madness. We can't just hope and pray voters won't choose the dementia patient. We have to be leaders!
People who are afraid and want to appease the radical leftist mobs to stop destroying our cities. We live here too, does Trump forget that? He seems to believe that there aren't worried conservatives having to live through this anarchy, while he takes no real action to stop it. In fact, he seems to be encouraging it because he believes it will turn people against the Democrats. I wish that were true, but when has it ever been true. Rioting and looting in the cities has never lead to a Republican winning the next election locally, at least not in my experience.
Republican voters very well could vote for Biden. Here's why.

I'm voting for Trump no matter what. I would not be surprised if suburban and urban GOP voters vote for Biden, not because they want to, but to get a false sense of stability. I live in the city, and I'm afraid if looting starts in BR, Trump will not stop it, and local Democrats will egg it on. We will have to depend on John Bel Edwards to stop it. I'm sure he will eventually, but it certainly makes Trump look like an empty suit. If moderate and conservative voters feel like only Democrats are stopping the looting, which they themselves inspired, then they will continue to vote Democrat like a vicious cycle.

By the time November arrives, if Trump still appears to be on defense constantly responding to the media's outrage of the day, he will lose. His supporters want a leader not a follower. It's like he sees this when he's out campaigning, yet when back in DC, he does very little. If he doesn't think the country will elect a dementia patient just for some false idea of stability, he hasn't been paying attention. I wouldn't be surprised if Republicans voted for Biden just to make the rioters calm down. They stomp and we give in. The country continues to die.

Exactly, and by allowing them to frame Trump as somehow responsible for the looting as a response to his so-called racist policies, we are allowing them to win. He needs to not just put his foot down, he must stomp down hard on the anarchy, or that will be their winning strategy going forward. Anytime a Republican wins, riot and blame the Republicans.

That's the problem, they aren't waking up. If you believe the polls, which I have only a modicum of faith in, voters are blaming Trump because they've been convinced he's a racist who caused these riots, looting, etc. Clearly, they keep voting for Dems so they don't believe they are responsible.

Well you are right of course on how the narrative would play into their hands, but do you not think that narrative would be more likely to get Trump reelected. They have that narrative anyway, whether he takes action or not. But by not taking actions, I feel demoralized as one of his supporters. He was supposed to be a strong leader who brought back jobs while keeping our borders safe. I didn't eject someone who is just a placeholder for the next Obama.
I wish that were true, but in 2018, the silent majority stayed silent and gave the House Democrats a 40 seat majority! Don't think for a second that can't happen in 2020. We were blessed and lucky in 2016. The elites have had 4 years to sabotage Trump. They try everyday, and it worked for them in 2018.
