There isn’t a single documented instance of a death by “excited delerium” that doesn’t involve restraint.

This is a bit disingenuous.

First of all, the term is relatively new and was specifically coined to describe a previously considered mysterious phenomenon where death unexpectedly resulted from restraint In cases where arrestees where acting delirious and uncontrollable on drugs with excessive heart rates, etc.

Secondly, if a person died from the symptoms while not being restrained, it is just diagnosed as an OD, or a cardiac event.

Restraint is a general term. Be more specific.

Restraint on its own is reasonable.

These doctor guys would disagree with you. Sorry if the facts hurt your feelings.

The study found that only 18 of 214 individuals identified as having EXD died while being restrained or taken into custody.
