I can't load the videos so you'll have to go to the article, but I've read that Gaye is very athletic for his size. It will be interesting to see if he can impress the coaches enough with the condensed off season to become an impact player.
I've seen some projections that have him 3rd on the depth chart, but that's to be expected until he gets an opportunity to prove himself.

A similar play, but with a few important subtle items to watch. The opposing team attempted to use the tight end to block Gaye. The tight end leaned too far over his toes and ducked his head. A hand swipe combined with a swim move and Gaye was quickly past the tight end. More importantly, he did not go too far into the backfield. Next, Gaye read the play, a quarterback lead run into the A-gap. Just like with the play above, Gaye went laterally towards the running quarterback and made the stop near the line of scrimmage.
That’s instinct, technique and athleticism all on display. This is a polished defensive end headed to LSU.

We'll see an obvious drop off because of the losses but it won't be as bad as people think/hope. O has stock piled a serious level of talent throughout the roster.

So thankful we have the best recruiter in America as HC. I never doubt anyone this staff brings on, I felt the same about Miles but with O you can tell its on a higher level.

We were not very good rushing the passer last year so we don't need much to match it and hopefully the new front and scheme can be more successful. We have a lot of freaks so hopefully they can produce.

I know nothing about this guy so I can’t judge. The fact that he had only 1 sack last year in JUCO is a little concerning, though.

What DL left that was elite or hard to replace? Even K'Lavon Chaisson wasn't elite but for a few games. He was drafted on potential not on field production.
Edit to say I really appreciate what the guys did last year on the team. Just saying the DL wasn't exactly the strength of the team. I think we will have a better DL this year.

When we picked up a juco end I didn’t think much of it, but after looking at his build, he’s the type of kid you want walking off the bus first

I don’t agree. Our defense suffered from the same evolution that greatly benefited our offense - the recent tendency to let the tackles hold. Saahdiq Charles, Austin Deculus and every tackle we played against held shamelessly. It’s impossible to get an edge rush against that unless you blitz a man free. But that’s what the NCAA is looking for, so they can get offensive fireworks.

First off, the covering guys "in space" is fricking hilarious!.....2nd, I'm not so sure our talent was lacking, listening to Pelini he said something like "I expect our 4 man rush and our penetration to be much better this year, EVERYONE will be lining up in a shade, it's VERY hard to penetrate\pass rush when lining up right over the O lineman" 3rd, this D line will be 3 deep all the way across, 13 guys will play, O has done a fantastic job of reloading the D line...im excited!
