450 easily

Not a huge fan of either, but BWMs in particular are just plastic garbage under the hood. I think they make their hoses from Mardi Gras beads melted into shape in a toaster oven. And it's not even a particularly good toaster oven.

For the same price you could get a V90 Cross Country too.
And less of a vehicle too.
The correct answer to the OP is “Neither”.
Toyota Land Cruiser, bruiser.

That would be my choice, but it’s a dinosaur in terms of tech vs a GLS. If his wife’s car, I’m sure she won’t care that it will run forever because she’s going to want a new one in 3 years anyway.
According to the LC forum, Toyota slowed the LC production this summer. They usually ship 300 per month and they’ve been sending 50. Prices for new and used are all over the place. The rumor of a 300-series in ‘21 may also factor in.

450 has three blind spots
not a vehicle for a short woman to drive

I had the Mercedes and it was a bad arse ride right up until service and maintenance time. $400 oil changes, $500 tires and other BS gets old whether you can afford it or not. As mentioned, the AC took a while to cool down as well. Sold it and bought a new Tahoe and couldn’t be happier. Tahoe may lack the cool factor of a Mercedes or BMW but it is a solid ride.

A built out one is 75k. Yea it’s not a van. They need to offer the T8 in it though.

Amazing what one costs now... lol

What about a LX 570?

Volvo’s XC90 is the best full-size SUV out there, and it ain’t even close.

Neither. Buy something that is affordable to maintain and $20,000 plus cheaper. Crazy to throw away on luxury brand like that when you get longer life out of Asian made vehicles to ‘live without that badge/status’
How do you know what’s affordable for the OP?
It may be crazy for you but not for everyone. Jesus let the man buy what he wants.
Typical OT, a person asks an A or B question and everyone needs to give their opinion on how he should spend his money.

Neither. Get the Lexus LX 470. Best family luxury SUV you can get. You will love it

Land cruiser and lx 570 ain't that much difference in price. I wouldn't buy new in either anyway. They haven't updated anything in awhile.
Between the two OP mentioned, it would be benz for me.

The interior of the X7 is well thought out, and they're fun to drive. I can't comment on how reliable they are.

I don't trust Nissan. Couldn't do it. Same with BMW.

The X7 is the better car, arguably the best large premium SUV. The GLS will be more reliable, not too much of an issue if you don't keep cars past warranty end. As a brand, BMW is now MUCH more reliable than Mercedes but the X7 still has some issues to iron out.
The LC and LX570 are great in many respects especially reliability and off-road prowess (for the category) but they are absolute dinosaurs compared to the competition. If you can look past this you will be able to pass them on to the next generation in your will if you keep them up.
