“Our new mascot is based on several real-life black women who are lawyers and eat pancakes some mornings when they aren’t too busy litigating on behalf of the disadvantaged. While Sheila does enjoy our extended line of breakfast foods, that is only one small facet of her rich and complex identity as a human being: Sheila also speaks fluent Italian, likes U2, is bisexual, and enjoys cross-country skiing. Let us make it clear that Sheila never serves the pancakes herself, but now and then goes to a diner near the courthouse where waitresses and waiters of a variety of races serve them to her.”

Only poors use that high fructose garbage anyway.

100% maple, bitches.

Here is a little science for you.

Maple syrup in the store averages a sugar concentration of about 60% sucrose.

Aunt Jemima syrups averages about 49% high fructose corn syrup.

Sucrose (table sugar) is half glucose and half fructose.

So the total amount of fructose in maple syrup is about 30% whereas in Aunt Jemima is 49%.

Why is this important?

When your body breaks down glucose it converts 90% to energy and 10% to fat. The liver does the fat conversion process.

When your body breaks down fructose it converts 10% to usable energy and 90% to fat. Again your liver converts the fructose to fat.

This is why people that consume a lot of high fructose corn syrup containing foods are fat as frick.

Now you may have a question about natural fruits. Yes, fruits have fructose. That is natures way of making us attracted to their species to literally spread their seeds. However fructose in fruits is not nearly as bad as fructose in processed foods and soft drinks. Why? The fructose in fruits are chemically the same as high fructose corn syrup but the fructose in fruits are tied up in fibers. The fibers bind the fructose and a large part of the fructose just passes through the body and avoids getting absorbed into the bloodstream for your liver to breakdown and make fat.

seems like i remember them updating her look and people complaining that they were making her look "too white".

in 1989 swapped her red bandanna for pearl earnings and soft curls.
