Ok.
This opinion just means you're not a hypocrite.
That's not the case with the left and a lot on the right that would never tolerate a modern day William Sherman.
When it comes to Sherman, people try to have it both ways. They support what he did back then but would never tolerate it in modern times.

Coward.
He purposely feigned insanity and lied to his superiors so as to be relieved of duty.
When home, he was so ashamed of his actions he contemplated suicide but did not have the fortitude to take his own life for his dishonor.
His return to war and the atrocities he committed were nothing more than misguided attempts to restore his name and standing.
In the end, he would have been best served by launching a lead ball into his brain at a few hundred fps.
