How long did it take you? What resources did you use for the exam?

I've got my PPE. Mask, gloves, faceshield, hand sanitizer.

OleWar has a very real plane, so he probably does.

I don’t need no stinking license.

ATP here.
It took a couple months, but I was flying 4x/week. Find a CFI friend who has access to an airplane. It’ll cut your costs down substantially.
For written, use Sporty’s or Dauntless. I don’t think Sheppard Air does PPL, but it is the absolute best for everything beyond private. Also, visit 4vfr.com for free practice questions.

I'm going to definitely put "airplane" on that list.

For my PPL it took 7 weeks and pretty much exactly 40 hrs.
Kings Schools for the knowledge exam. This was more than 10 years ago though so resources have changed.

About 9 months. Sporty's Learn to Fly Course for ground school. I did it in my free time with the help of some friends who own planes. Just over 40 hours during those 9 months (I had 10 hours of instruction from high school).
