Jay's BBQ is #1, and Dempsey's is not far behind....Who else?

I have to admit.... i rarely, if ever, look at cleanliness as a deciding factor of where to eat.

#1. Ruth Chris
#2. Cafe Roux
This comes from someone who worked on commercial kitchen equipment at an early age.

I've done a lot of work over the years in restaurant kitchens and the best advice I can give you is don't even think about it. If the food is good enjoy. You can find problems in any kitchen. It's just the nature of the business. Forget about the kitchen and enjoy the food.
Also, if you ever went into a grocery warehouse you wouldn't necessarily buy food from a grocery store. And that means all of them including the top of the line stores.

Inspector with the Board of Health told me recently that the cleanliness of the bathroom is indicative of the cleanliness of the kitchen.. If a restaurant is dirty enough for me to notice.. I don't go back..

Lots of hating on Jay's.....Must be an acquired taste, because I like most of the food at Jay's a lot.
