Best in public waters 8lbs Lake Martin Alabama on spinner bait. I’ve caught at least a half dozen over 10lbs in private lakes

Two 7 pounders. I didn't have a scale but took measurements and the internet says 7.
First one- rattletrap at dusk at UGA lake Herrick. 1997. Ripping it over hydrilla that hadn't surfaced yet.
Second one- Carolina rigged black lizard red sparkles, apartment complex pond in Mt Pleasant SC. circa 2005
Both times just fishing from the bank killing time with little to no expectations.

In Louisiana or some could claim Texas 11.7lbs Toledo Bend. H&R swim worm white/lime.
8 lb bass Brec North Sherwood Forest Pond 2010. H&R swim worm white/lime.
California Castiac Lake 14lbs 7 oz which would not even blink an eye back in the day.
Early 90’s a few guys were pulling high teens to low 20lb ball park bass out of this lake.
Sorry the down voters are sore losers.
They never had the opportunity to fish a place that has bass that large.
