Say a 5'9 150 lb guy against someone who is the same height as Gronk or Michael Jordan.

5'9" is like Justin Beiber, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz.

In a fight Beiber vs Jordan, if Jordan were to lie in the prone position, how long do you think Beiber could hold him down?

you can get leverage on someone easier by being shorter than them

Bieber, not long.

Someone that size trained in BJJ, as long as they want to.

How about if we allowed 5'9 150lb Beiber to put a knee in the back of 6'6 Jordan. Do you think it turn the tide in Beiber's favor?

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog...

When I wrestled in high school (119-126 lbs) our coach would make everyone wrestle everyone else for 60 seconds. It made you understand leverage and what you could do against a bigger/smaller opponent. I pinned our heavyweight in one of these by being faster and by using his own mass against him.

If you mean while we are laying on our backs then yes.

Actually yeah. I'm a manlet and did BJJ for a while. If someone's prone, flattened on their stomach and you're in mount then it's over. That's probably the worst possible position they can be in to defend themselves

I sparred with a dude who had six inches and 75 lbs on me. It was all good until we went to the ground and he got on top of me. There just isn’t any technique to overcome that type of size advantage if the opponent has any skills at all.

Likewise I sparred with a girl who had been in the Pan Am games and medaled. Much more skilled than me and I beat her easily using size and weight. People will say otherwise but, having been on both ends, I can tell you that size wins when things get up close.

This is why they have weight classes in martial sports.

Your whole post just seems a little off. Anyway, I don’t know if height is a big advantage in wrestling.

I think OP was trying some weird gotcha where he implies because the cop was smaller, there's no way he knelt on a larger man's neck until he died.

What's the size difference between you and say your kid? Could your 11 year old son take you? He may have some boney knees...could he kill you by sitting on you?

My buddy is about 5'6" and was a HS wrestling champion. I'm somewhere in between 6'2 and 6'3".

We got drunk in college once and wrestled one night. He pinned me up pretty easily. I don't know shite about wrestling.

I still think I could kick his arse if he didn't get me on the ground though
