So much wrong with this mentality.

Basically if you're white, and aren't currently on your knees sucking a giant black dick, you're a racist.

They want to start a conversation just so long as you're not part of it.

I wish it wasn't that way. But you have to look out for yourself and your family, man.

Well if you actually read his apology, he didn't apologize for what he believed in. He apologized for not being able to read a room, which he damn sure cant. I cant believe he fell into that question and didn't think to give some bull shite line like 90% of the twitter blue checkmarks.
I read it again and in my opinion the cancelculture is going to SCREAM "NOT ENOUGH".

I think the apology was a great idea. And I believe every word of it. Brees has been such a good person his whole life. I read his book and it truly made me see how much better of a person I could and should be. Made me want to be a better man. So yes, I believe Brees is genuinely sorry that his words cause real hurt for people. Whether it should have or not, it obviously did. Hell, one of his teammates was crying. So it does not surprise me one bit that he apologized and that he means each and every word. Better than the average "apology" we get from idiots that say stupid shite they end up regretting. So yes, Brees will overcome all this. He is too good of man not to, and everyone knows it, including those bashing him right now.

People should cease apologizing altogether. For when you apologize you affirm the other side’s beliefs.
Stand by what you said and you will earn more respect.

I supported Kaepernicks right to kneel during the anthem even though i didn't agree with it. The black community and his teammates should support Drews right to speak his mind and stand for the flag. Its called freedom of expression and its protected by the First Amendment. Too many damn people just want to shut others up so only their voice can be heard. Too many monologues and not enough dialougue.

He will lose sleep at night knowing he didn’t stand up for his convictions. Also because he will now have to keep up the charade indefinitely and constantly ramp up the platitudes to appease his new masters. And he will likely be fretting about how the mob will treat his wife and children going forward.
One of the downsides of getting paid tens of millions to throw a ball.

He had to in order to get the locker room back for this Super Bowl run.

I seriously doubt any of you people would do different if it affected your family's well being or source of income.
Because Drew Brees needs to protect his source of income so they dont starve.

Although I agree with his stance and disagree with his apology. Let’s not attack him like the vile left has. He has done so much for the state and the Saints, let him live in peace for the final years

This is why you never apologize to social media outrage mobs. They don't accept your apology anyway and now they still hate you and you look like a coward to those who agreed with your initial statement

Doesn't giving into bullying just reward that kind behavior? I know his views didn't change over night. This kind of stuff including some mayors and police taking a knee during protests and rallies is just a show that only ignorant believe but also fuels more ignorant behavior. It is actually treating blacks differently than they would if whites were protesting, rioting, and breaking laws protesting for something related to white people or when a white person is killed by cops. Whites are expected to be reasonable and those that aren't are treated accordingly. To treat blacks differently and have lower expectations of them is racist.
With some of the offended we have people who gotten more than their fair share of stuff plus some who are upper middle class to upper class and have had it better than multiple generations all done white families claiming victimhood for being black. Some of those white people didn't come to America until after civil war or never owned a slave and may have had family members die fighting to end slavery or helped blacks in many other ways. In most cases even with slave owners in family history or confederate soldiers with that length of time people and families' wealth have risen and fallen and repeated a few times and have nothing but a family tree and dna linking them to that family to what they are today. Same thing for descendants of slaves. There is also some crossover between them.
Also, One things I learned in high school, college, and as a kid when my father helped with sports medical stuff for a small university is that athletes (mostly football and basketball with some baseball mixed in) get preferential treatment including getting things done for them and their family, given access to things other students don't get, money for nothing or more than work performed, grades "helped", and having behavior overlooked if not covered up (easier before social media). This was a school without SEC or similar money or resources to throw around. Since a greater proportion of these athletes were black at schools my father was involved with and in many major college sport conferences than in their population in society I find it laughable when black athletes bitch about treatment and even more so when they are professionals getting millions.
For the ones, black or white, that don't go pro there are some that are forced to figure out they can't get away with breaking rules like they used to and they shouldn't have blown off classes with some struggling to adapt to this and choosing to play victim, but many including blacks have good careers due to education and realized they had to grow up and weren't always going to be looked at for athletic accomplishments. Their kids have it better than they did, but even some their kids just like some kids from black or mixed families who are doing well without boost & long time preferential treatment from athletics want to act like they were just freed from slavery especially and even only when a black is killed during an arrest by a white police officer.

It’s no secret that this how he’s actually felt about it. His words yesterday were taken out of context and he felt the need to clarify. No one cares if you lose respect for him. I respect him for what he’s done for this city and communities for the last 15 years. You are no better than the mobs who freaked out on him yesterday.
