@Tigertrot she is at Arkansas. I don’t think LSU had a scholarship available for her anymore and she wasn’t able to compete much the last few years. She hasn’t made lineups at Arkham’s as yet.

She was but there were some issues over the years with her being healthy and unable to train very much. She has some talent, specifically on the power events but she struggled being able to have much consistency training and competing for a while.
It ended up working out that Arkansas could also give her the chance to compete NCAA with a full athletic scholarship. She will probably be able to give them a solid vault or floor sometime down the road. Right now its playing catchup to solidify her foundation.

I was looking ahead at the 2023 team, and scholarships are so tight for that year. I know I had previously said find a way to make room for a recruit like Selena Harris or Sophia Butler, but I don't see how it is possible. Someone has to come off scholarship just to sign Lilly Lippeatt and Annie Beard.
Meanwhile there looks to be one scholarship open next year. I imagine one of the walk ons will get it.

Depends also on what happens with Caitlin Smith... LSU has had many scholarship kids over the years who struggled with injuries to move into manager roles but still be a very big part of the program

Congrats to Sarah Finnegan on her election to the USAG board! Also, I hope she can withstand the internet hate that she is already getting merely hours after the announcement. Apparently being religious (and I know there was more to the original thing that she was canceled for) is reason enough to "cancel" someone.

I understand that, but that would just open up a spot to take both of the current commits for that class.
How does a team manager role work as far as a scholarship goes? Do you still receive academic funding?

Insurance pays for the scholarship for medicals is my understanding.

Does anyone know who runs the LSU Gym social media accounts? They need to start blocking, deleting, and reporting these gymternet bullies. Some of this stuff is awful.

Gymnastics Fans are Here Facebook is where I’ve been following, and that group is 75% a bunch of “mean girls”. And I include one particular guy as one of those mean girls. What a little b.......ok, better not finish that. He is the first one to chime in with a nasty remark, and then tries to play all PC after his comments are questioned. I don’t know which team he is a fan of, or if he is just in that group to start s..t.

My favorite today was someone who posted how 80% of the judges are from Louisiana for the UF meet while completely ignoring that during this Pandemic the rules have been completely relaxed to allow more judges from within 200 miles so that less travel is being done. This is happening ALL OVER THE COUNTRY but no one points it out until the LSU/UF meet. And the poster is a big time UF fan, at that.

Yes I saw that! But I was surprised that a good number of people brought up the rule to inform her that it was normal this season. And people that I thought would be on her side brought it up.
I was happy to see people sticking up for LSU in there. They have been trashed all season on that page!

Wouldn’t it be absolutely wonderful if we could beat Florida Friday night! Maybe that would shut some of them up! Of course, heaven forbid we get any generous scores
