Lake Charles isn’t worth investing in fiber infrastructure I suppose. Probably be the last to get something of the sort.
I’m paying for 1000 a month through ATT. I consistently get 30-40 via WiFi on wireless devices.
I have Cameron Comm coming out Tuesday because I’m tired of dealing with ATTs terrible service.

Get a COX or whoever business account at home with an SLA and pay 400 to 1200 per month.
You think it’s reasonable to pay $400-$1200 a month for home internet service?
Nah bro. I’m good. I don’t want to game that badly.

I’ve paid for Cox’s 50 down and 10 up deal for years down and I consistently get upwards of 50 and 60 mbps down and 10 up. I really just depends on your location

In Baton Rouge, Cox would be lucky to deliver 8 mpbs
I had Cox cable for years in Baton Rouge. Always got around 120 Mbps.

I have the highest tiered service and you get about the same speed as the lower tier service.
Have you tried ensuring that your modem is up to date? If you are using an older modem, it won't be able to fully take advantage of your true internet speed.

Suddenlink also blocks streaming services. ESPN is constantly blocked with “reauthentication needed” messages. If it’s available through their television service, streaming will get blocked.
Like others have said, they suck.

No, but if you want guaranteed speed/service that is what it takes.
It was reasonable for for me bc it was for work. Cox didn’t seem to give a crap about my crappy service. Always blaming it on the neighborhood, old cabling, etc. would take a day or two for them to come out or fix the problems. Once I switched to a business account, any incident was handled usually the same day and magically they were able to clear up 90% of the problems. They seemed to be way more motivated to make sure my stuff was running right once I went from paying the residential rate to paying the business rate.

AT&T Fiber gets me 657dl / 250ul for $75/month in the Houston burbs. This is supposed to be gigabit service.

To support online gaming you need minimum 50 mbps. There is no way LC will ever see that. I’m stuck here and there is no way I’ll ever be able to play simple online games.
