Help me understand the whole having kids thing. The wife (no pics) and I are both heavily on the anti-having kids side of things and we have yet to come up with a logical reason on why having kids is a good idea. No offense to people who have them, I just want to understand a little better.
Here is a list of a couple pros and cons that we came up with.
Pros:
You have someone to look after you when you get old.
Cons:
Extremely expensive on every level imaginable
Annoying
They smell
They constantly break and ruin things
Huge burden on your life
Extremely risky that they will make a huge mistake later in life and you are left to deal with the mess.
High pitched screams in public
Temper tantrums
Can potentially be the reason you and your S/O get a divorce
You can forget about any kind of travel alone
They are on the payroll for at least 25 years
Destroys wife's body for good
Lack of sleep
Dirty diapers
No more hobby's other than kids hobby's
Daycare
School cost
College
Vehicles
Insurance
Doctors visits
Oh, and did I mention how expensive they are?
Like I said, no disrespect to people who have them and choose to do so. I am just trying to understand the mentality here.
I've heard the "you'll never understand the love of a child until you have one" a million times, but I call BS. Seems like Hell on Earth. I have a dog that I absolutely love, but when we see a child we cringe and run the other direction. Kudos to all who have kids.

She says this now, but its in their DNA to want kids. I will come out later.

Pros: It's what God wants you to do.

I agree.

Please, for our sake, do not have kids.

Judging by your long and whiney post, I don’t think you have to worry about having kids

Remember, you were also a kid once. Are you happy your parents didnt have the same thought process as you?

It just isn’t for some people, and you should enjoy your life and not feel guilty about that. Don’t do it because it is what you’re “supposed to do.”

All good points.. I have 3... Hard to argue your cons.

but who will mow the grass when you are old and don't feel like doing it?

This isn't meant to insult you, but you seem to lack the maturity and selflessness that is necessary to be a good parent. It's probably for the best that you don't have kids.
<---- Does not have kids, btw.

Apparently your parents raised you as a mistake and burden instead of a gift from God.
