It's still a pain in the arse. Other than the big stuff, you still have to unpack and place everything in the correct location (OCD talking here).

I’m moving right now as I type this. I’ve hired packers, movers, and unpackers and it still sucks arse.

One of the things that made me marry my wife was her packing all my shite up when I last moved

When I moved out of my last bachelor pad my wife came over and cleaned it and I got my whole deposit back. First time that had ever happened to me

Moving is always the same, it's just the distance in between that changes. Like most said the trick is to dump or donate. I've moved about every 2 years for the last 16 years. I'm hoping this will be the last, but I doubt it is. Life is life.

Living in a 3rd world county that doesn't have clean water and there is no indoor plumbing is probably worse than moving.

It costs about $600 but it’s worth every penny in the big scheme of things.

$600 to throw out your trash seems kind of crazy

Yup. I had probably lived in 8 different apartments by that time and I was like, damn, they give those back sometimes?

For a good 4 or 5 years I thought “deposit” meant “down payment”

Wait until you have a wife and kids.

I wouldn't have a dining room table that seats 8, 2 couches, that decorative pot in the corner with sticks in it that weighs like 90 lbs either if I was single.

Yeah totally agree. When i was single one small U-haul truck would get the job done. The wife has turned the next move into a darn fleet of semi's I dont even want to think about when it happens

Oh yeah, pandemic shelter in place home improvement projects can be quite maddening as well. Oftentimes you don't know anything about them until it's happening and you're immediate assistance is requested by the other half of the marital unit.

I hope that the next move I do is by the coroner - we moved basically three times in four years.
We decided to replace our wood floors so we basically moved the entire house except for kitchen in into a pod and in the garage, moved everything back after completion and then about a year later decided to actually put the house on the market and move

When you own your own restaurant and people bitch that you don’t have a post-COVID brunch menu is apparently worse than moving.

I hate it so much. Movers are great but it’s still awful.
