I’m not trying to pitch that you switch to Spotify. I’m just glad I was able to fill you in on the details of the largest music streaming platform there is. I hope you feel like you’ve learned something.

I have both, so don't really have a "dog in the fight" on which is better, but they're basically the same.
Apple Music in its current form is almost identical to Spotify, and it's definitely nothing like iTunes was.

Sucks.
I won't pay to download, which is the primary way for me to listen to Rogan. He was my go to travel day Podcast, because his show was at least half of any 5+ hour travel day. Can't stream that.

Do you have to have a membership to listen to the podcast on Spotify? I used to have a Spotify membership, but I canceled it when Google Play Music was bundling Youtube Premium with their subscription. I don't even know if they still offer that bundle, but I've been grandfathered in.

Forget that.
I typically dislike most of Rogan's shows, but I like a lot of the nutrition and exercise people he has on. Some of the blockbuster guests (Snowden for example) are good. But that sucks that the full episodes won't be available on YouTube.

Announcement: the podcast is moving to @spotify! Starting on September 1 the podcast will be available on Spotify as well as all platforms, and then at the end of the year it will move exclusively to Spotify, including the video version. It will remain FREE, and it will be the exact same show. It’s just a licensing deal, so Spotify won’t have any creative control over the show. They want me to just continue doing it the way I’m doing it right now. We will still have clips up on YouTube but full versions of the show will only be on Spotify after the end of the year. I’m excited to have the support of the largest audio platform in the world and I hope you folks are there when we make the switch!

This move is the type of things he used to always speak out against. Sucks to see him do this. I have YouTube premium and only listen on YouTube when I even do listen nowadays. I'm not going to download spotify just for his show and only listening to clips is just garbage. I guess I'm completely out on his podcast now when he makes the switch later this year.

YouTube Red man here as well.
I will not be following Rogan to Spotify. I used to Stan Rogan hard but in the last year or so the quality has just dipped and the podcast is just not as good.
JRE had a good run but Joe has secured the bag and sold out now.
