Does anyone here actually care about their elected officials having political experience?

Starting in 2016, we heard how “dangerous” it was to have someone as “politically inexperienced and unqualified” as Trump in office. I honestly think that the founding fathers would be mortified at how many limpdick uniparty career politicians we have in office currently, and I’ll vote against the “qualified and experienced” candidate for the rest of my life.

I dated a girl for a few years who worked in politics and took me around their events regularly and it was hugely eye opening. They’re the laziest, most arrogant, do-nothing group of alcoholics on the face of this planet. I met a lot of “””prominent””” people in Louisiana politics and was amazed at how absolutely worthless they seemed as people and civil servants.

Rant aside, does anyone here think that having political experience adds any relevant skills to a politician’s repertoire?

I would like some sort of useful experience, as opposed to Stacy Abrams who has done nothing.

I thinks some experience can be a good thing but nothing is worse than some piece of shite politician that has been in Washington for 30+ years

Other than qualifying for deep state status? Nope.

Just to be clear. I want real people with real life experiences. Successful business leaders, professionals, military, police, healthcare, etc...

I’m just tired of career politicians, and Trump has proven, at the highest levels, that we don’t need them.

I'd prefer they didn't have it.

Two weeks before Michael hit Panama City hired a city manager with zero experience in that area; he'd never even worked for a city. But he was a recently retired two-star general in the Army Reserves, had management experience in private business, and he freaking crushed it. They look like geniuses for hiring him over a bunch of prior city managers/city employees just looking to move up the ladder a bit.

It's one of the few places where the more experience you have the worse you get at the job.

The biggest downside is that Trump has basically been a one man army fighting for the American people.

Most of his own party and all of the opposing party and career bureaucrats have tried to hinder his agenda or flat out carry out a coup.

He has done a decent job of weeding out the swamp, but needs a second term to really get full momentum.

He has a really unique career, combining the business experience with the TV experience.

Cuban has something similar but I don't think he has any charisma. I have a hard time believing anywhere near half the country will ever get excited about Mark Cuban.

Considering the ones with political experience are the ones who keep fricking us, no I don't care if they have political experience.

Louisiana is not exactly the best example of model politician behavior.
