They wouldn't but the filter/ effects are man made I think. NASA will send out shots to the public to be tinkered with to possibly illuminate interesting anomalies in each shot. It's just a filter that brings out certain features, i.e. magnetic fields, infrared images, etc.

Nah dude, in space the quantum physics make Aids appear as herpes and herpes appear as clap. We still have yet to determine what appears as Aids, some believe it to be extra-terrestrial in nature.
