Could Russell Wilson be traded by the Seahawks?

Last week, Chris Simms unwittingly lit a slow-burning fuse while he and I tried to identify during an installment of PFTOT the universe of NFL players who currently are untradable.
How about Russell Wilson?
He has a no-trade clause in his current contract, and there’s a reason for it. As Simms said during the conversation, the Seahawks talked to the Browns about a potential trade that would have sent Wilson to Cleveland for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Browns contend that the idea was “floated” conceptually, but that the discussion did indeed happen. At the time, the Seahawks were staring at another extension for Wilson, one that would result a year later in a contract with a new-money value of $35 million per year. And the placement of a no-trade clause in the latest contract was indeed influenced by chatter regarding the potential trade to Cleveland, we’re told.
That said, some who are close enough to the situation to know what may happen believe that Wilson eventually will be traded. Intriguing potential destinations would include, in our view, the Cowboys, Raiders, and Saints. (Or, as Simms says, any team “that doesn’t try to establish the run for three quarters and then ask him to save them in the fourth.”)

I would do that if I were Dallas.
Rater pay him and than Dak.

It'll never happen, but god please let him go to Denver, Russ dropping bombs to Jerry Jeudy is the stuff of dreams.
Also, you gotta figure Russell Wilson gets the call from literally any of the 32 teams before Cam Newton in a scenario where their starter goes down.

He would have to raise a major stink and demand a trade while threatening to sit. He just doesn’t strike me as that type. Maybe if the roster got bad enough. I have no idea why Seattle would choose to trade him unless it was under those circumstances.

Dude pays off a mansion with one month’s salary and we’re on a 15-30 year loan

Wilson in Sean Payton’s offense would land him in the Hall of Fame.

There’s an interesting quandary here: if you have one of the best QBs in the league on one of the biggest contracts in the league, you’re unlikely to win a super bowl bc you have too much wrapped up in your QB. But you’re likely to remain a solid team or a consistent contender. If you don’t have that situation, you’re either bottom of the barrel bad normally, or you get a stacked team plus an up and coming young QB on a rookie deal and you roll into one or more Super Bowls
I think the Seahawks could see the writing on the wall and trade Russ to give themselves another shot as a true contender. You know Pete Carroll thinks he can develop another rookie QB
