So many non-Saints don’t even realize how little evidence there was to hand down such a severe punishment.

What amazes me about this is every NFL fanbase knows Goodell is full of shite. But for some reason treat bounty gate as gospel.

The worst part about what the nfl did was not only punish us for everyone but then black mail parcels into not taking the job for a year

You don't want the NFL to start policing things that happened 10 years ago. Then that's all they'll be doing from here on out.

It definitely sucks, but the saints got caught red handed not too long after the season they were accused of doing bountygate. Plus most of these players were still on the team at the time of the punishment

Who on Pittsburgh can you punish besides Tomlin?

Suspend him for one full year and take away draft picks.

It does not matter if zero players are left on their team from the incident.

You mean the guy handing out envelopes and actively participating in this?

Remember, this is the same guy that tried to trip another player or a return.

Look, im not asking for him to lose a year because thats not going to happen. Quite frankly id be shocked if those players that got caught armed robbing someone gets that.

But can Tomlin not at least get a couple of games and the Steelers lose some mid level draft picks?

I agree. Remember, Payton and Loomis were suspended for a year and 6 months respectively and the team lost 2 2nd round picks because they should have known about the phantom program. Since Tomlin actually participated, he and the team should be penalized even harsher IMO.

Not gonna happen. Tomlin is an African American living under the “Great Rooney Family” estate. Goodell won’t do shite because he is a bigger hypocrite than Dick Vitale. It’s frustrating but the world is full of unfair judges and juries. You know how Goodell thinks. He has his favorites !

Cowherd went on a big “why do Saints fans think everyone hates them they blew it twice they got caught in bounty gate” thing today it was typical LA west coast bullshite. “Everyone loves New Orleans and the Saints” derp

Baseless allegations does not equal red handed.

Red handed would imply there was some sort of evidence of wrongdoing. So it does not apply with the Saints.

The Saints did get caught red handed at least twice. The Saints were even warned and still participated. Additionally the Saints were stealing controlled substances. I think the drugs were a big part of their punishment.

The Saints were punished for paying players to cause injury. There was no evidence of that.

They were not punished for paying for performance.

The WSJ studied all the Saints games during the alleged bounty period and found no game footage supporting intentional injury of Saints opponents.

The WSJ determined that Saints opponents actually suffered the fewest injuries against the Saints.

The WSJ determined that the Saints received the fewest personal fouls or intentional fouls called against them than any team in the league during the alleged bounty period.

The Saints engaged in typical rough game speak only.

Every fan base including the Saints fan base seems to be unaware of one important fact....

Who does Roger Goodell work for?

Mr. and now Mrs. Benson is Roger Goodell’s boss.

Roger Goodell doesn’t suspend an NFL HC for one year without the Approval of the owners.

Their responses and hate for Goodell (I don’t like him either) do not reflect this.

Tomlin won’t get shite done to him. He’s a golden boy in the league and Goodell will do nothing to a black headcoach. He deserves way worse than Payton, but I’d they did what was fair, the media would claim it as a racist act that the black man gets a harsher penalty.

That and Rooney is the reason goodell is making $40 million / year

The owners. Not the coaches and players.

And if one owner feels wronged it doesn't mean all the other owners are going to fire the commissioner.
