Came down with my brother from our evac location a week after to secure the house and on the way back we had to stop at one of the Enterprise, MS exits to put gas in the truck. Exited and stopped at a gas station to get one of the big tanks we had brought down with us out to fill up. Got out of the truck and a bunch of people, maybe 20 of them, were just hanging out outside of the building which was closed. 3-4 of them got up and started walking towards us slowly. The rest were sitting near the building just chilling together with what also looked like an officer. All kinds of baws and other locals looked like they had one thing in mind and in common that evening. We got out of there with the quickness and found another place to stop. Was seriously concerned for my life at that moment and had we stayed I’m confident we would have been robbed or worse.

Was downtown & in FQ a week after, never saw any black water, special ops, or Israeli soldiers lol. Just my experience
I literally watched president bush ride down Decatur in the back of an army utility truck from a 6th floor hotel balcony, there wasn’t even secret service around

See a lot of wild shite in the year after Katrina, but the strangest was in the median of the highway in front that big truck stop by the underpass/tunnel. It was a 20-something degree morning in January 2006 and some short blac dude is wearing nothing but blue boxers and leather work boots, goose stepping up and down the median while a couple cops just stand off to the side just watching.

I was at Johnny White's drinking beer with the people that stayed on Sept 10th and have camcorder footage of the French Quarter and riding around other parts of the city. I need to convert and upload to YouTube.
It’s really incredible footage with WWL Radio playing in the background.

I've known about a half dozen dudes that were there, in the military doing escort story and the like that have, independently of each other, good me stories about black ops of some sort, especially when you had the roving gangs going through looting neighborhoods and shooting at shooting at or threatening rescuers.
One was escorting postal employees to the post office in Violet. When they got there there were looters inside. They called the St. Bernard sheriffs office in and they just straight shot all the looters, no questioned asked. Took the bodies out in the bayou and dumped them.

A very good friend was a foreman for a cleanup company doing work at the Convention Center. They were cleaning one of the kitchens and pulled out a whole pig that had been sealed in the fridge for a few months. It disintegrated when they tried to lift it to throw it away. His description of what it looked like and smelled like was disturbing.
Somehow, I knew that reading this thread while having a late snack would be a bad idea.

Saw cow carcasses in power lines, caskets in trees,a double wide mobile home on top an 18 wheeler in Port Sulphur.
A brand new Ford GT in spring 2006 at that big Ford dealership in the East. Waiting on its new owner, window sticker still on it. Red with white stripes. Surrounded by utter devastation. That was a wild juxtaposition.

That big shrimp boat in the middle of the neighborhood in Chalmette was strange. The way it's bow came to rest a few feet from someone's front door.

Sewell sold Suburbans, in addition to Cadillacs. The cops initially tried to lie about the thefts and desertions. Then backed up and said they needed vehicles. One would think a Suburban would be better suited to police work than a Cadillac, but the Cadillacs were all gone.
They took Cadillac Escalades which are basically Suburbans.

Lots of people working there had armed private security provided by the companies they worked for. Ours was a security company out of Wisconsin most of their personal were recently separated military. Our security guys wore a company uniform, a side arm, and had a AR15 and shotgun in the vehicle rack. Some of the other security outfits wore military type garb, I believe that is how a lot of the Blackwster/ Israeli soldier stories got started. Basically the security guys just escorted us to each work location, and stayed close by while we worked, never encountered any type of problem.

Random shite
Boats hanging like Christmas trees ornaments from being tied up to overpasses and left. Waters went down and some just became vertical.
The mountain of debris on west end blvd. Was a few hundred yards long and at least 40 feet high. Just full of the insides of flooded homes.
Seeing a lady bleeding out because her daughter tried stabbing her with a butter knife
Fat Harry’s and what used to be a rite aid being looted and it turning into a messed up party.
Dudes stealing a flat boat to go loot Walgreens
Death despair and destruction.

You’re right. It was Shin Bet/ ISI at Audubon Place. They flew into BR and took a Blackwater helicopter from BR to NOLA.

Heard something about how when people were stealing booze and Jordans out of liquor stores and foot lockers....that someone or a team of people (probably more likely) went around the city yanking out ATMs...just whole units. And that they got a bunch of them.
