My daughter’s class (1st grade - no pics) held their year end award ceremony today via Zoom. It was a real disaster and the emcee could barely be heard.

Anyway...my daughter won the countywide academic award that is given to 1 kid from each grade in the school system. There are 8 elementary schools in our county, so it’s a big deal.

I’m very proud of her. She’s smart, likes school, and is a great kid.

I’m very pissed that media hysteria and leftist pussification robbed her of this moment AND a couple months of her 1st grade year.

Goddamn you, Fauci!

That’s great and all but hopefully she is being taught that becoming a mother should be her ultimate life goal and not a successful career

She’s being taught to make her own decisions and live with them.

Just imagine if she were a senior and robbed of those memories.

I know what you mean. I missed out on my law school commencement due to this. My commencement will be held at a later date, but when is that later date? One of the last couple of days of my post-bar exam vacation. So I will likely have to cut my trip short to make commencement.

Eli, tell your daughter this from Uncle Zach. In the old days there was no such thing as end of the year awards for anything until you were a senior in HS. And then it was very minimal. And many years later this guy named Dr. Benjamin Spock wrote a book and the self-esteem movement kicked in.

Congratulations. Don’t let this rob you of your pride and joy.

Given that this is elementary school, I won’t belabor the lack of respect for our rules.

Post something like this about her in about 6-8 years, though....

Not only did the Chinese cause the reason for your daughter's ceremony to have to be held via Zoom; the Chinese also own Zoom and fricked that up too.

Just ain't your day baw.

Eli, I'm usually a big fan of Uncle Zach. I think he is a great guy and had a heart of gold, even if he doesn't want to admit it.

He's also older, and grouchy.

I'm just old and a little less grouchy.

I'm so proud of both you and your daughter. At her age, outside recognition had little impact and what pushes her to do well.

It's taught at home and she looks for validation from you guys.

As long as you guys make a huge deal about it, that's all she could've asked for! So rather than being sad about things focus on making it known to her how much you guys are proud of her and how much you love her.

That's going to mean more to her than any award thing!

I don't know if you saw CNN.com, but they took that Fauci hearing and turned it into the headline "Looks like school won't be starting anytime soon".

I'm sorry but when I learned about stuff like '3rd grade graduation ceremony' years ago I knew we were raising a bunch of pussies. I hope his daughter is a huge success in her education and her life. But I fear for what our kids are being taught about 'everyone is a winner.'
