Luckily I think a lot of the onus will fall on the restaurants. They’re smarter than the city
And they’ll be sticking an infrared thermometer in all of their employees face before every shift, asking questions and keeping a temperature log. They’re a big part of this and at least they will be monitored closely to protect patrons

Meanwhile the trips to Walgreens, Rouses, and Home Depot go unreported.

I envy your youthful wonderment

That’s already happening man
Any place that has been open the last month is temping and questioning employees. This isn’t the hard part

Monitoring employees is easy. I have to check my temperature before work. All contractors and vendors have to have their temperature checked as well.

Will get a burn phone and give the name Ron Mexico.

I'm not talking about taking temperatures. I'm referring to tracking down patrons. It's not gonna happen.

Monitoring the diners isn’t tough at 25%. There will be more workers than diners in some instances
At the restaurant level, you can already produce an excel report from the reservation apps with a click of a button that give the diner’s info. I reckon those apps are already working on a system where you provide everyone in your party’s info as well
I’m not saying it’ll work or its a good system. Hell I don’t think most restaurants will even open yet. But these protocol and procedures aren’t going away

According to the news it’s more to warn the people that have been in contact with those who have tested positive via a timeline m
It’s not all that intrusive tbh

I just think the efficacy is shoddy at absolute best. It's an ineffective burden put on the restaurant business.

quote:You are out of your mind Gyno. Restaurants are worried about staying above financially right now. Not all that BS you mentioned in this post and the one about calling patrons from a previous day if someone else previously came by with covid. That is basically a death wish for that restaurant and someone will post all over the internet how that certain restaurant is infected with the virus...

How? BS? This stuff is already in motion
The CDC/FDA are coming out with updated, new restaurant best practices for COVID everyday for the last two months. I’m not just making this stuff up. Employee health screening is in there. PPE, social distancing, handwashing, cleaning, workers/patrons testing positive etc
This stuff will be included in every restaurant health inspection and in every Serv Save course in the near future. Restaurants will not have a choice but to comply or not be open

Think of the liability on the restaurant. No one will want to take this on. Imagine the suit if you end up catching the rona and someone gave false info. This opens such a can of worms and truly is impossible to track.

How many Jenny's @ 867-5309 will be on those lists ?

Welcome to the USSR. It's astounding how stupid so many are on here that agree with this ridiculous bullshite overreach by authoritarians. Not to mention these unelected bureaucrats at the CDC/HHS/NIH/FDA are basing this bullshite off of JUNK models and projections that were 100% WRONG ! Folks, we are on the downside of the slippery slope.

Im just waiting for the restaurant to get sued by someone because of inexact records.
The diner finds out everyone who dined at Bubba Gumps last Tuesday got a phone call except them. The diner then blames Bubba Gump for putting their health at risk for not letting them know.

This is really small potatoes as far as restaurant problems go. Most aren’t gonna open now anyway. They have time to figure this stuff out
The real problems are ya got 5.5 mil restaurant and bar workers on unemployment. Festival and conventions canceled. Maybe sports? Small occupancy requirements. Consumers scared to go into public. Supply chain issues. These things seem insurmountable at this point to most
