A friend and I went to a thrift store in BR, looking for some great vintage whiskey glasses. While we were there, we see them roll out a grill, still under a grill cover. We walk over and lift the cover and realize it that is a 38” Bull Grill on a cart. We ask how much and the guy says (with a little hesitance) $60.
My friend buys it right there, no questions.
He gets it home, finds the serial number and calls the Bull Grill hotline.
The grill was never registered, so he registers it, getting a lift time warrantee.
He spends about $200 to clean it and to find out what’s wrong with it. He talks to the hotline of the company, they send parts that were messed up.
He got a $3000 grill for $260.
This thing is a beast.

Was it a rusted heap of crap like most things in thrift stores?

I’m not sure why you only got a-hole responses, but I can understand the excitement of finding an unexpected treasure!

To be fair, the OP hasn’t built up the most stellar reputation on here.

But that does seem like an awesome find. Pics?

Considering it’s 100% stainless, zero rust. A little Barkeeper’s Friend, it looks brand new.

What a great find! I’ve had a few good kitchen thrift scores myself. Cast iron skillets someone was too lazy to clean properly, a big ceramic crock perfect for pickling, and any number of embroidered linen tea towels. Dunno why people toss out 100% linen cloths—they make excellent dish drying towels. My honed marble countertops will shred a paper towel, so I clean the countertops with towels. The slightly coarse texture of linen scrubs ‘em up quite fine.

great find! I love thrift stores. I buy way too many kitchen items because they are a deal. Recently found the best (unopened) vegetable peeler at an estate sale. Go online to order them for all my children because it is so great. No o

Great find but I avoid appliances when going to a thrift store. Based on experience I'm not just good on this kind of stuff.

I would never think to look at grills and/or appliances, as well. I gotta give props for this find all to my friend
