Following his high school injury, it was actually pretty unbelievable he even played in the NFL, much less at a high level.

Bottom line, Breaux was average but on a team with very below average defensive talent in the secondary. Enough so that he looked good.

This is the NFL dude, you don’t get rated the 5th best corner at his peak in the league because your teammates are horrible. What kind of logic is that?

In an age of terrible CB play, Breaux was a slightly below average CB

That's just inaccurate. Before his injury he was one of the better CB2s in the league. I specifically remember Deion hyping Breaux and Keenan Lewis as one of the best duos around 2014ish. I don't remember the exact year but I remember him saying it bc it surprised me that he was paying attention to someone besides the big names at the time.

Bottom line is that he was an average CB - is not a bad thing, lots of people would like to have that kind of athletic talent.

Teams were scared of his medical. Saints took a chance with that and other teams were not willing to take the chance something goes wrong on the field with is previous neck/back issues.

Dude wasn't an average CB, I don't know what the hell y'all were looking at. His first season with the Saints he played solid ball, but you could tell that he was getting used to playing NFL ball after coming over from the CFL. His second season I thought he had come into his own and was playing at an All Pro level before the injury bug got him at that was the end of that. Dude got a raw deal from Payton and the Saints, and I wouldn't be surprised if he sued after he's finished playing in the CFL.

What? He was damn good when he played for the saints

I wouldn’t say he was damn good, but he worked his arse off and it definitely showed on the field. He got better and better each week and then was injured
