Funny thing about him not being any good. The short time he was with the Saints he was the best cover guy they had
His second year with the Saints he was a Top 5 NFL CB.

At the beginning of his career with the Saints ..He SUCKED..He never turned his head around and got flagged repeatedly..And believe it or not he was coached up by Brandon Browner..He started to play a lot better then was injured..

I'm gonna leave this right here and walk out. This thread is typical Sainttardom. Praise players as the best when they are on the team then shite all over them when they are no longer. It's weird.

I’m surprised he hasn’t sued the team over this.

how would that work with the CBA...he sues the team or the doctors for malpractice?

That isn’t very fair. Breaux was not below average at all. Was he an all-pro like Patrick Peterson, Stephon Gilmore or Tre’Davious White? No. He was a big, long press man cover corner who at times wouldn’t turn his head or could get handsy and called for a flag but other times he would make great plays on the ball. All in all he was probably an average starting caliber corner to NFL standards but don’t dog him like he was Jason David or Brandon Browner.

A misdiagnosis that arguably derailed his career doesn’t seem like a CBA issue to me.

Other than Ingram (hated when here, loved when he left), it's the only thing this board can do consistently.

People only want to remember how bad he was his first year (not that he was terrible, just a lot of penalties), and how terrible he was while trying to play through injury. Can't remember the great times in the middle.

I could see the CBA trying to protect the teams if a player is misdiagnosed by medical professionals (even if they are the team doctors). But, I do not think you can absolve the medical professionals from any liability for a misdiagnosis, it's why they carry malpractice insurance.

Breaux was very good to a point that, given his background, probably wasn’t sustainable

My thought concerning his play was that I expected some regression, but would still be a guy that could give you good snaps in the league

You dont think we did him dirty by not taking his pain complaints serious and basically telling him to push through a broken leg? I still think we handled that poorly.

Are you paying attention?

1) Payton was getting bullshite medical opinions from the Saints, at the time, medical staff. It has come out since that they were a bunch of quacks who somehow survived duck season.

2) Payton broke his leg. Couldn't stand up. Missed one game and returned to coaching the team. Just because YOUR vagina may hurt when you stub your toe shouldn't mean that you project that onto everyone.

Bottom line, Breaux was average but on a team with very below average defensive talent in the secondary. Enough so that he looked good.

This is about what I always thought. He had one solid year in the league. Even before the misdiagnosis, he started racking up the injuries if I remember correctly.
