It was a huge cultural issue for Coach O at USC. USC is a very private, elite-in-their-own-minds university....picture the snobs around the tulane program transplanted out West....and he was never ever going to be good enough for that snotty group of alums. Another image: remember how Vegas Vince went over with the Up Town greenie crowd? Here Coach O is in his own element & not only accepted but loved by his social peers down here. USC is nowhere near what it used to be under P.Carroll & J.Robinson.

I live in Metry, and I’m having guests over for dinner tonight. I’m debating on whether we can dine outside. In L.A. it would feel luxurious this evening...low humidity, mild temperature, awesome! You can drive to ski mountains, drive to Yosemite, hike the Santa Monica mountains, ferry to Catalina and surf the coast. I have a daughter in L.A., and I get out there to visit sometimes. There’s no doubt in my mind why so many who can afford it move out there.

I don't think Orgeron is going anywhere. But if he did, you wish him well, find the next good coach and go win a national championship. Scott Woodward is well qualified to do that.

The last three LSU head coaches have won a national championship here. Orgeron has been great for the program, and I hope he stays as long as he keeps winning. But, ultimately, it's about the program and what it can do. No one man is bigger than LSU football.

I didn’t upvote. Kinda would have loved it to be 0. But I appreciate everyone’s optimism.

Dude, you are an idiot if you believe that Ed O is ever going to leave LSU. This is where he belongs. He just won a national title and has this thing rolling. He's here for a long time.

I live in LA too amongst a bunch of USC fans. Nobody wants O.

Everyone knows O got lucky one year, he’s not a great head coach

Did California make you dumb or something? man, if we don't have the dumbest fans, we're certainly in the running.

If O leaves LSU, it won’t be the first time.

Honestly I am not one bit concerned and we will have a replacement right away.

Don’t worry be happy.

Well, based upon this post you are no “Tiger Fan” so stay in “So Cal” and root for shitty USC.

USC told O to get lost. Why would he go back that? PS try finding good Cajun food in SoCal.

Not only O but why would any coach leave LSU or any top tier SEC school for USC?

USC has horrible facilities, the fanbase is not loyal at all, and the only draw is that you have LA right there to recruit. O is showing that he can still go to Cali to recruit and he still has Louisiana, Texas, and Florida/Georgia he can easily go get people out of.

Keep your arse in California and while you're at it go pull for USC. You are no real Tiger fan

Eh my wife is from LA and has zero desire to go back even though we will be visiting next year. One of my best friend’s is on USC’s football strength staff (Louisiana boy). My point is not everybody is enamored with life in SoCal.

USC seems to have no real commitment to winning at the level they once did. They have fallen to second tier even in the PAC 12. They abandoned what was once a top baseball program. They have yet to show any commitment to a top rate football program. I see no reason for O to return. He has a job now that is head and shoulders above USC and is likely to be for a while.

1. O is set up better to succeed here than anywhere else in the country. He took over a program with good bones, and a willingness to shell out money for Coordinators.

2. he isn't going to leave here to take over a rebuilding project and thats what USC will be. We were a fixer upper, they are going to be a rebuild when they fire Helton.

... I need to stop watching HGTV

3. O prefers a school with colors that "pop" as well as "clean lines" that create an inviting atmosphere.

Lol...
