Is does my soul good to see fake news outlets like the NY Times finally getting called out for their propaganda

The New York Times editorial board faced mockery from multiple journalists Sunday, after the board suggested that a sexual assault allegation against former Vice President Joe Biden be investigated – by none other than the Democratic National Committee.

Is this satire? “unbiased, apolitical panel, put together by the DNC” LINK …

@mikememoli
NYT ed board wants "an unbiased, apolitical panel, put together by the DNC" to examine Biden Senate papers.
Might as well just say there's little Biden can do to satisfy critics, since any panel assembled by DNC won't be accepted as unbiased

Absolutely astonishing -- New York Times not only rejects role of media, but calls for an investigation done by 'an unbiased, apolitical panel, put together by the DNC.' LINK …

I’ve seen some spectacularly stupid stuff from NYT ed board but this might take the cake. LINK …

Hoping that's a bipartisan takeaway from Trumps first term. Just how far traditional media has fallen from their own lofty ideals.

Yep. And I'm speaking as someone who grew up with the highest regard for the press, and even considered a career in journalism. It breaks my heart to see what journalism has become

One of the things I looked forward to when I was a kid was having my own Newspaper subscription when I grew up. Had a huge amount of respect, especially for print media, until I came of age and saw just how much media was changing for the worse. Same for my wife. She actually used to write for the A&M campus newspaper and considered a career in journalism herself. Now she doesn't even watch the news. Too toxic for her and she sees right through the bs.
Sad state of affairs right now.

That was a very different industry. It attracted intelligent and well educated people.
Now we have fifteen different (liberal) versions of the Daily Mirror screeching at us.

That would be like putting Eric holder and Loretta Lynch in charge of investigating all of Odumbf*ck's and sHitlary's MANY criminal acts.
Oh wait.....nevermind.

Yup. And the same could be said about the lion's share of our politicians today, too. Double whammy. No wonder we are where we are right now, tbh.

What the NYT told everyone with that is something that I've said for a LOOOOOONG time.
To liberals, theirs IS the default "non-partisan" position.
I realize of course that both sides think they are right. But liberals don't actually see "sides" in this discussion.
There are "correct ideas"(theirs) and then everything else. This is why liberals can't even conceive of the idea that one could look at the same problem they see and conclude that a different solution is the best approach.
It's why they always presume that if you disagree with them, it can ONLY be because you're racist, sexist or one of many other ists/isms.
And, they're that way on fricking EVERY issue. It's why it's utterly impossible to talk politics with a liberal because inside of 15 minutes, you are ABSOLUTELY going to be called some form of bigot.

quote:It's not that simple. Getting into journalism in order to change it is a big part of what has gone wrong with journalism, just in the other direction. I worked in radio for awhile. I also knew a lot of the people in New Orleans TV journalism, and some in print. They were, for the most part, good people who cared about the facts. Cable news changed everything. Good journalists are marginalized. Most outlets care about two things: Ratings, and promoting their narrative. That's not the fault of people who didn't go into journalism.

Well, this isn't really that accurate.
The reality is, if you are under 40 right now and conservative, AT NO POINT IN YOUR LIFE would going into Journalism hoping to be a high achiever have been a solid plan.
Oh, maybe you get lucky and end up on Fox, but other than that, zilch in terms of mainstream big time spots for you.
Hell, just look at all of the TV "journalists" who are former members of Democrat administrations.
A liberal who wants to be a journalist has a real potential career path. A conservative has to hope to be some fricking unicorn.
It's barely different in Academia in many ways although not quite as locked tight. But damned sure locked tight in places.

The me, the major failure in journalism that is literally TAUGHT to them and, they somehow came to believe at some point in the past is the idea that somehow, they can "professional" their way out of being human.
A sincerely GOOD journalistic organization would START with the realization hat this actually can't be done. YOu can't "professional" your way out of bias because we all bring our biases to the table. Now, I'm not talking about overt hacks. I'm talking about otherwise decent people who want to be good journalists. They are STILL biased and can't help it.
You don't solve this via pretending it isn't a problem. You solve it by acknowledging it and creating fire breaks to it. IE. How the frick do these people not understand that if your ENTIRE frickING NEWSROOM is composed of people who think the same way, you have a major problem? How to they actually believe that this newsroom can somehow address stories in an even handed manner?
Hell, bias shows up just in the selection of stories to cover. What ShortyRob sees as important going on in the world isn't going to be what Toddy sees as important. If you have a room full of me, you're going to miss shite. If you have a room full of Toddy's, you're going to miss shite.
Journalists have deluded themselves regarding "professionalism"
