Any recs for Destin/Miramar Beach area ? Open to all types of food. Seafood is usually what we will go for on the gulf but doesnt have to be limited to that.

Friend,
We go east of Destin at least once a year, which I do not particularly enjoy. Destin does not have much good food, but one restaurant I enjoy is the one named Dewey's Destin. There are now several locations, including one in Navarre and one at Destin Harbor. I recommend avoiding both of these, as they cost more, give less food, and ultimately taste no where near as good. The original fries shrimp perfectly, as good as anywhere in New Orleans. Its deck seating above the water is reminiscent of dining at New Orleans' West End. It is the only restaurant during these trips in which I will now eat.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

It’s hilarious that half of S Louisiana makes their annual trip Destin every summer and eats at the same places they have back home.

I agree with you but....florida has great seafood but they don't have a clue on how too cook it...its way to bland and tasteless...

All things considered, it’s hard to beat a bronzed fish sandwich at The Back Porch on the beach.
Go enjoy Destin for what it is. You wouldn’t go to Paris looking for Mexican food.

I hate that I’m agreeing with TulaneLSU about anything, but Sitting on a pier over the water with a nice breeze blowing with a basket of steamed Royal Reds and a few cold beers while watching the sunset at the CRAB ISLAND original location of Dewey Destin is a true joy.
