Do you think Chase abused Stingley/Fulton in practice like he did Terrell/Henderson/Diggs?

I would argue Stingley is better than the three other CBs mentioned and people always said he and Chase had "great battles" in practice (and I would not consider tge battles between Chase and Terrell/Henderson/Diggs to be great on one side). Fulton is two years older than Chase and they went to the same HS so they have probably been going up against each other for a while. How do you think those matchups went?

With Joe throwing to Chase I don't really care who the DB is I cannot imagine him winning many of those.

Yes
My theory on why the defense was not good as a whole for most of the year, especially the secondary, is that the 1st team offense broke their confidence in practice leading up to the start of the season.
Took a while to get it back.
I always remember Fehoko’s quote, “It’s tough because when they are out there and they are doing the things they do, you kinda ask yourself ‘Do we suck or is our offense really that good?’
Sat Down South article - Breiden Fehoko says LSU’s offense making the defense look bad this spring

I think with the fast paced offense and injuries, it took time for the defense to gel. Obviously Delpit being severely hampered by an ankle injury against Ole Miss showed our lack of depth ready at that position. But after that game, the defense showed out.

No. I don’t think Stingley is getting beat like Diggs or Terrell but there are some throws Joe makes that just can’t be defended. Both TDs to Chase in the natty and the one he dropped- there is no defense for that.
You’d have to be fricking superman to stop it

If I were fricking Superman, playing football would be the least of my worries.

Stingley gets beat on quick slants so if Chase is running those im sure he won a couple

Iron sharpens iron. Chase probably won some Stingley probably won some but both got better in the process

Ten years from now those Chase/Stingley practice battles in college will be folklore

"SUPERman" doesn't have ANY worries!

They each won their share , which is what you really want to occur.

No and no. There’s a whole article on it.
Chase vs Stingley at LSU
Sometimes, though, it's about sitting back and watching the sparks fly.
"One day, Ja'Marr will win, one day Derek will win," Orgeron says. "That's what makes them better. We talk to our recruits: iron sharpens iron. That's why you come to LSU, because the game is supposed to be harder on the practice field than it is on Saturdays."
I’m very sure he had to match-up with all three and all three built up his skill in the off season to the point he could play against ANY receiver he faced: big, fast, strong, wiggly, etc.
In a couple interviews, Burrow said he would get a pick at every practice. Burrow would throw when receivers were in phase with their backs turned. Stingley ran like a receiver with his head turning other receivers eyes.
He led the conference with picks. Burrow wasn’t the only good QB he faced this season. Hurts was in NYC for the Heisman lest you forget and here is what CeeDee Lamb said about him. You know that guy that was a first round pick. When asked which cornerback was the best he’d seen in college football, Lamb pointed toward LSU’s freshman.
“I know he’s young, but that guy knows football. His technique is unbelievable,” Lamb said of Stingley according to Jon Ledyard of the Pewter Report.
“Derek is as humble a guy as I’ve seen. No. 1 recruit, sometimes they come in and they’re all cocky and loud, and Derek didn’t say a word for three months,” Burrow said. “At practice, I would go out of my way to throw Derek’s way to see if he was as good as everyone said he was. I can tell you, yes, he is. Yes, he is.”
“It was Stingley's work against Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow in practice as well as matching up with LSU's talented group of receivers like Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and Terrace Marshall, that helped him to one of the best freshman seasons a cornerback has put on tape.
"Joe taught me a lot about having to go play by play because in high school I was always able to make the play," Stingley said after the SEC”

Then wouldn’t you know Stingley gets a pick in the spring game. Hmmm.

I think it was the injuries for the most part. rewatching the Texas game recently really kinda underscored how guys just beat up we got in that game. guys were dropping left and right in the second half, and a handful were still out over the next few games after that like Chaisson, Lawrence and Glen Logan.

I thinknits Really easy to lose focuse when you’re up 20-40 points
But honestly we had some personnel issues
Coverage between the outside corners was rough at best.

That's neither relevant, clever, or funny

quote:not stingley. no way. if you watch technique breakdown, like topbillin, stingley's technique is off the charts good. he breaks down weight distribution, all phases of the route, timing, everything. stingley is a freak and he proved it against the best wr's. yeah, the best are going to get him sometimes. that's what you would expect.
Do you think Chase abused Stingley
