I give to St. Jude monthly and at years end. I’m about to add Shriners to my annual giving as well.

Beware of Companion Animal Alliance right off of campus or at least thoroughly check them out. There are reports (don't know if substantiated) of "dealings" with perfectly ok pets and the vet school. I'll leave it at that.

St. Jude as well.

My dad donates to St. Jude every year. Think that is really the only one, but he makes sure to send them a few hundred every year.

He said he’s personally known people that have had children hospitalized there and they have all said that place is 100% exactly as what they present themselves to be.

Seems like St. Jude and Drs. Without Borders are the only two I have never really heard bad things about. I wasn't thinking about the difference between St. Jude and Shriner's -- I had it in my head they are all one entity. But, anyway, I watch Tennis Channel a lot and they are constantly playing Shriner's ads. They really hit you in the feels.

Gonna go with my church, very small so I know it'll stay local.

Also think it'll be spent well, thanks for the advice everyone. Should have known where to send it from the beginning

You can't go wrong with St. Jude.

When our Mom passed a few months ago my siblings and I requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in Mom's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. That place cares for and treats the bravest kids on earth.

ETA: Ooops, I was typing and didn't see that you made your decision. I'm sure that your church will appreciate your generosity.

Currently leaning to st. Jude

I had a friend who's brother died. St. Jude did everything in their power to save him, and couldn't. The amount of both effort and their souls the staff put into it still gets to me sometimes.

That's a good one. Have had a couple of friends who had to go to Univ of Michigan children's hospital/units for some awful things and it sounds like Ronald McDonald house has really helped them.
