If I open my business and employees don't wear facemasks, etc., who is going to enforce his proclamation?

Does this kind of proclamation by a governor have the same legal teeth as a law passed by the legislature?

Sick of this shite.

His police force is bigger than yours.

And JBE’s power derives exactly from the Legisislature. Title 29, Section 760 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes

If everyone just ignores him then there's nothing he can do. He can't arrest everyone.

Cops don't want to be sued. They'd be fricking stupid if they do anything.

Just think about this statement and how powerful it is

A cop arrests people at church

Holy fricking free money and cop fired.

From the looks of the roads today, he ain’t enforcing shite.

The public is over this virus scare tactic and ready to get back to normal. frick this clown. If the people get out and do as they please then he won’t have a choice but to open up. He can’t put all us under house arrest at this point.

If it's just you, it will be enforced. If it's everyone, it won't be.

He will enforce it. Over the years, Bobby increased the number of state agencies and employees to be commissioned as state law enforcement officers. More campus cops, state fire marshal deouties, etc.

JBE is operating within a law passed by the Louisiana Legislature. No court has ruled it to be unconstitutional.

Are you suggesting cops defy their oath to follow lawful orders and protect the Constitution?

you mad, bro? I didn’t write the laws. And I’m surprised such staunch conservatives as yourselves are not keen on following the laws as written.

I also upvoted you

Yes I do. It will be good practice for them. In the future....they will have to choose.

No, no it's not, and it isn't even close. Once enough people get totally pissed, it's game over for those cops.

The Legislature in its public emergency laws stated that executive orders issued by the governor “have the force and effect of law.”
