New NY study shows that ventilators kill 90% of Covid-19 patients who use them compared to 5% of patients who do not use them.

This sounds as scientific as the VA HCQ study, right?

Covid treatment endorsed by Democrat governors Cuomo and Newsom has higher mortality rate than non treated patients.

But probably 100% of those vent patients would have died without it instead of 90%. People aren’t getting intubated unless they are about to die.

Yeah, no shite. The ventilators didn't kill 90% of them, it saved 10% of them. The fact of the matter is if you are put on a ventilator, you're in deep shite.

Wrong.

This is a dumb thread. Patients who are vented are about to die. They are to the point where they can't breathe on their own.

The ventilator forces oxygen into their lungs, effectively breathing for the patient.

It's a last resort procedure which attempts to give the patient's body a chance to stay alive long enough to recover.

The vents don't kill anyone.

Only 3% of incubated coronavirus patients over age 65 survived in the New York study.

I think they’re mocking the retrospective study of HCQ.

incubated - now that's a modality I've not seen mentioned as being used on corona. Who knew?

Yeah, I was mocking the VA study where they only gave HCQ to patients (as a last resort) who were already intubated, and they acted like it was the HCQ that killed them when they were already at death’s door..

Not to throw a monkey wrench in everyone’s argument but I will throw this out there.

There was a large push at the onset to intubate everyone who was in mild distress prior to “needing” to be intubated. This was done so that airborne exposure to healthcare workers could be limited since intubation was during a stable and planned time instead of during the chaos of a patient crashing. This philosophy was used worldwide and resulted in thousands of people being intubated when under normal circumstances, they would not have been.

I don’t know how this practice played out in this study.
