I’m scared the Cowboys are going to make Dak the highest paid NFL player of all-time

If he signs what has reportedly been offered he will be the highest paid NFL player of all time in regards to APY.

He is a fringe top 10 QB and could prove me wrong, but this is insane and I am astounded at the support he has on social media and within the media here in Dallas.

If the Cowboys do this, it will likely doom the franchise for the length of the deal, if not longer due to lost high pick opportunities from tanking.

I know the cowboys are hated here, but as a lifelong fan I am genuinely concerned that I can pretty much write off any chance of winning shite or even making the postseason for the next 5-6 years.

Don’t worry, Mahomes will overtake his deal. And then Lamar will be next.

But those two are actually top 10 quarterbacks

If he's fringe top ten, you have to pay him. But, this is the quintessential Stafford/Flacco debate on here. Do you pay big money to a guy who isn't great or just bite the bullet and be irrelevant for a while?

The Cowboys needed to hope that Dak had Scottie Pippens agent. I'm a Cowboys fan and I agree, he's a good QB but not elite. Unfortunately it looks like they are going to pay him as an elite qb.

Are you sure this is the truth? Cowboys have done nothing before Dak and during Dak so what the difference? Cowboys fans will still buy season tickets!

Oh man this will be hilarious, however I think Jerry knew what he was doing when he slapped the franchise tag on him. Per the "Football Life" doc on him, Jerry remarked how valuable the cap managers were back in 95 so he could sign Deion to his massive contract, he knows how to work the cap for players he truly believes will lead the franchise to Super Bowls. Not brain surgery.

Since Dak came in the league:

He’s 9th in the NFL in terms of passing touchdowns.
He’s 6th in terms of passing yards.
He’s 10th in Passer Rating (minimum 1,000 pass attempts).
He’s 9th in yard per pass attempt.
He’s 4th in total number of tds.

So yeah please name me 10 guys who have been better than him the last 4 seasons. Name me the 10 guys better than him going into this season.

I’m scared they have holes at all levels of their defense and have limited offensive weapons

Did the Cowboys win a playoff game with Dak?

Seahawks two years ago and his qb run late in the game essentially won it

He wasn’t good that night either. Zeke carried the load.
