BR Water - What's the deal right now?

To preface, BR Water sends my bill maybe once ever 3rd month. They don't email when a bill is due, even though I am enrolled in the smart bill thing. So I just try to set calendar reminders to go in and pay.
I'm trying to pay now, and I'm getting this:
I tried calling and it says their bill department is closed until the end of the month. It doesn't help that their bill pay is not an actual website with a login type of deal. It is a redirect to a Western Union pay page that has to be older than my grandma.
Tried enrolling in auto-draft, and the only way to do it is to physically print and mail a form with a voided check
I swear this can't be real in 2020.
Are they just not taking people's money right now for the virus?

I've never had any problems with it. I paid mine the other day via the pdf they email me every month

They won't email me mine!
When I used to pay by phone, you would have to type in your account number 4 total times (same number) because it would prompt that you typed an invalid number even when you didn't.
Its amazing. I would be better off bringing cash money to the trashy in person office.

I have mine set to autopay and they withdrew this month like they always do

I assume you printed and mailed the form with a voided check? I don't mind doing it, but at this point I don't trust that they'll have received it and set it up.
Can't believe this isn't something you can set up on the website in 5 seconds.

In the past, I would get that message when I was too far behind and there was already an order to cut off my water. It was maddening because I was wanting to pay but I would have to do it over the phone or go in person. And the reason I was so far behind was because I never got the emails consistently and never got around to printing out a form and mailing in a voided check. They run this business like it is the year 2000.
Are you 2 months late on payment? That could be why. I know they aren’t supposed to be cutting off anyone’s water so I don’t think you have to worry but their system may automatically trigger that response after X amount of days late.

I think I enrolled in auto-pay with them in the mid-1990's and laughed at the antiquated process then.

Yeah, they did mention they aren't cutting anyone.
I'm not 2 months behind, luckily. My account shows I paid a few weeks ago. I wonder if its the opposite - if I am trying to pay too soon.

I've been paying that way for several years. I don't remember having trouble signing up for it either. I think I just did it on their website.
Are you sending it to a personal email address? Some mail filters might block that pdf.

Sounds like enough of a pattern to indicate that you have something erroneously flagged on your account. I would call them next week when they're open and get it straightened out, because it will probably take a person actually looking into it to see the issue.
