Grill recommendation

I want to buy a grill that will last and not rust out. I've bought Weber grills and liked them but the stand rust out and within a few years the Louisiana weather has killed the grill and I have to buy new parts. I'm looking at the kamado joe big joe but I'm not sure if I want to be limited to charcoal only. Any suggestions on what grill to get to last a long time. Budget is $2000. Thanks

What about a pellet grill? Dont know much about them or how they cook compared to charcoal or propane.

You can grill and sear on them for a fraction of the price of a Weber grill. And of course make a great brisket.

I had some ribs recently on a pellet grill and they came out great

If you have that budget, absolutely spend it on a great pellet grill and never look back.

I recently bought a Traeger at Costco and it’s great. I’ve got that and Weber Genesis that I use when I need something quick. Between these two I spent $1700. I’ve had my Weber for 5 years and I keep both of them covered and haven’t had any issues.

To echo what another poster said look into Yoder. They make top notch pellet and offset smokers.

Bingo, fits the budget perfect. Smoke & grill over direct wood flame. I love my YS480, it's built like a tank and turns out great food.
But for $500, check out the Masterbuilt Gravity Feed grill/smoker. It uses charcoal and wood and has a pellet style controller for set it and forget it cooking.

Not sure which Weber you have that rusted. If it's only after a few years, they will replace it for free.
Having said that, you should look at the Weber Summitt Charcoal, with that kind of budget.
Kamados are versatile and can do anything. They are also fragile and tough to bring temps down if you overshoot because they retain heat so we'll.
Pellet grills are convenient, and easy, but they don't sear well, for the most part, and some complain that the smoke flavor is not strong enough.
Weber kettle is versatile, but temp has to be carefully monitored for a long cook. You can mitigate that by getting a temp control unit. With your budget, you could get a Weber Performer, digital temp control, and a Slow n Sear for $800ish.
Another option that has been getting love on here is the Masterbilt Gravity Dearies grills. The flavor of a stick burner with the convenience of a pellet grill.

Are you just letting them sit out in the open with no cover?
My last Weber gave me 10 good years before any rusting and I didn't use a cover. Just kept it under the carport.
I've recently purchased a better model and am using a cover.

What digital temp controller would you recommend for a Weber kettle,
I’ve got a Weber performer that I absolutely love and it’s lasted me 5 years without a spec of rust. I keep it outside and under the patio but don’t use a cover.
The only thing I’ve struggled with is smoking meat on it.

If my budget is 2 thousand dollars and I'm only getting one grill, it's going to be gas.
The convenience and ease of gas really can't be beat and you can do great things on a high quality gas grill.
There's nothing about a pellet grill that really moves me. It's really a wood burning oven and I don't necessarily want everything I grill or cook to taste like smoke.
I've got a weber genesis gass grill, a vision kamado i picked up about 10 yrs ago on clearance from Sam's and a Weber kettle. I cook with all three.
If I could only keep one, it would be the genesis. I can do everything on that I could do on the others and then some. Even low and slow with smoke.
Get a couple of tube smokers, LINK a 4 burner or better high quality gas grill and you can low and low anything, anyone could do on a pellet grill. Also, on those occasions when you don't want everything you cook to taste like smoke, you have that option.
I guess you can cook on a pellet grill without pellets if you don't want smoke flavor but I doubt it would cook as evenly across the entire surface as a high end gas grill. Also, it may not even sear without the wood pellets.

I have a DigiQ DX3from BBQ Guru. It has a fan and a control module. You set the pit temp for the control module (after placing the probe) and it turns the fan on and off to keep the grill temp steady. It works great. It essentially gives you pellet grill-like control over your temps.
BBQ Guru as a WiFi version of this, too, but it's more expensive.
I've got a butt on the grill, now, and just walked out to check it. The temp is holding at 225. For whatever reason, the 2 on the left is not showing up, but the temp is pretty rock solid at 225, and has been since 8:30 this morning.
I also have a Slow n Sear, which makes setup easier, too...

I bought a Camp Chef Woodwind pellet grill. Grill itself gets hot enough to “grill” things. But I bought the Sear Box for the side just in case. Gets as hot as 800-900°. Great for searing steaks. Easy to clean too. Very easy.
Spent $1000 and have loved the last two years with it.

So you use the slow and sear and the digiQ?
How often are you adding charcoal?

BGE and a nice rolling table for it.
