Guessing like a dumpster fire, but options are a bit limited...

I've played a couple times recently. It certainly isn't pristine but it isn't a dumpster fire - especially compared to the other courses in the area.

Tee boxes aren't in the best shape and the greens were ok. A little dead, but firm and the putts rolled true which you really can't say for many courses around right now lol.

Played twice in the last two weeks. Fairways improved a lot in 2 weeks. Greens rolling true

Played in January, tee boxes were abysmal, fairways were below average, greens rolled really well, bunkers were non existent, anywhere outside the fairway was dirt.

But if the fairways have improved like Scott says then that's good news. I'm excited to see what kind of progress they make this summer.

Course was in decent shape. Most greens were good, but were pretty sandy. This was on Good Friday. But, frick going out there again for at least 3-4 weeks. The gnats were worse than anything I’ve ever dealt with. I hunt and fish in the marsh for reference.

The only relief was the cart. Tee boxes, fairways and greens... you would have hundreds swarming and biting. Couldn’t do anything without them in your ears, nose or throat.
It was miserable.

I was cussing the pro shop for not saying anything when we scheduled a couple days before. OFF didn’t work... pretty sure they thought it was delicious.

Went out there a few years ago with some friends around this time... same experience, they said for 2 weeks a year the gnats go ape-shite. We were so excited to play the course for the first time and even though it was in phenomenal shape and we were playing well (rare), we still quit early because we were literally inhaling them. Went back some time later and there were no gnats at all so the '2 weeks per year' theory definitely held water

Played this weekend. Greens are in great shape. The fairways are being punched now. Should be in really great shape in the next few days.

Are they sticking to the one person per cart rule? My wife wants to go up there with me this week just to drive the golf cart while I play

yes but if it's your wife, I'm sure they aren't going to make you all split up. I saw two to a cart while there.

We played last weekend and the course was in good shape, but the gnats were bad.

We had a husband/wife pair behind us that rolled up on #11 and offered us bug spray. She said OFF doesn't work and gave us something that was supposedly all natural and made in St. Francisville. Whatever the hell it was, it worked

We played Sunday. It seems on the back nine they weren’t as bad or maybe we got used to them

Tried Cutter, Deep Woods OFF, fabric softener sheets clipped to my hat, and Amber Romance spray by Victoria’s Secret. Dryer sheets worked the best, with Amber Romance a very close second. Repellent spray seems to attract the damn things.

I strongly urge not to use any bug repellent, it does seem to attract them. Bug Soother, Swamp Swat or Amber Romance are most effective.

Vanilla dryer sheets is the best I've ever used against gnats. Not 100% effective, but the best remedy I've found.

7. Vanilla Repellent:

Gnats hate the smell of Vanilla. You can apply vanilla repellent over the exposed areas of your body to make sure they are not attacked by gnats.
